Here's from the last time they played back in late April. The Gs were on a pretty good run and this game was the last win of that run before the inconsistency set in.
RSL is on 47 points and we're at 48. San Jose, Portland and Dallas are all at 44. none of those below us except RSL can pass us and drop us into the away bracket, which means even a tie would keep us in the home bracket. Then we play Vancouver at home, which should result in a win for us, and... germane to this particular point.... KEEP us up in the home bracket. RSL will be the first game in nearly a month we've played against an actual playoff position team though. If we're going to expect to get anywhere if we make the playoffs, we're going to need to beat more than just bottom dwellers. So come on boys, don't trip now.
I thought we played well enough to earn points at Seattle and at Colorado in our last two away games. I think this time we get the result. Then we beat Vancouver and Houston to finish season hot and in second place.
RSL always scares me. They are such a wild team. You never know if they will look like the best team in the league, or absolute garbage.
Yep, 6 points separates 2nd from 8th-- 50, 49, 48, 47, 45, 44, 44... With 3 games to go not even the current 2nd seed has locked up a playoff spot yet. Contrast that with the east where 6 of the 7 spots are now secure...
So you are saying they are like us. All our people are healthy so we have nothing to complain about. We plan for their very best and then we let the chips fall. Either we are up the task of these coming playoffs or the team and the coach are simply out of their depth. We get a real long look at the situation this Wednesday. GO GALAXY!
I will be visiting family in SLC this week but unfortunately I arrive Thursday, the day after the Galaxy game. Instead we will be going to the Sunday RSL vs HOU game, which unfortunately takes place simultaneously with the LAG- VAN game. My family will naturally be rooting for their home team RSL - should I pretend to go along with them, ignore the game and watch the Galaxy on my Ipad, or focus on booing in the kids faces when RSL scores? So many decisions....
How young are the kids? I mean, you should definitely boo in their faces, I'm just trying to gauge how loud...
Any self-respecting Galaxy fan should be able to watch the Galaxy game on the iPad while simultaneously booing in the kids' faces...
No need to analyze this or that, soccer is primitive game - we just go ********ing all-out tonight, we break the legs, we tear the jerseys, we stump them into the ground, no mercy, no lame excuses, no smart tactics or moves, just use a sledgehammer.
Well, we look ok in all lines, with an exception of Steres who was huge liability in the past 4-6 weeks.
Same starting lineup as last game except Feltscher returns at right back. That’s basically 3 games in a row now with this lineup/formation.
I was thinking same thing a couple days ago. I never knew them all but I used to typically recognize maybe 8 or 9 players on every team. Now for some teams I’m lucky to be familiar with 3 or 4. Expansion and personnel turnover has left me in the dust.
