Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday, March 18th, 6:30 pm PT TV: Spectrum Sportsnet, MLS LIVE So, JJ should be back but, we're still not sure on Gyasi, Cole or even Gio now. With Ema's history vs RSL, maybe we start him opposite Romain on the wings and try Lletget up top? RSL hasn't won a game yet either so maybe we can at least turn around our road woes of late and get some away wins for a change?
They were unimpressive against Chicago. Beckerman looks like the miles on the legs are beginning to take a toll. I am just afraid given our form that we just might be the tonic RSL needs to turn its season around.
I'm still hoping the league rescinds the red on Jelle. I guess we can't argue the first for dissent but the second was BS. When should we hear about suspensions for simulation on Portland, if it were to happen?
If we are ever going to win a match, it's gotta be this one. Dos Santos is apparently out for a couple of weeks, and assuming Zardes and Cole are not match fit, this is what I'd be fielding. Tactics are pretty simple. Get it wide, and try to get crosses in to McBean. We haven't played to McBean's strengths are all so hopefully two natural wingers can help that. Defense is scary, but we it's the best we have. I am not sure what we will do with the keeper situation. Rowe did not deserve to be dropped, but after last match, Diop doesn't deserve to be dropped.
Haha! Fair enough - I can be a pretty critical person. Just know it comes from me loving the team and getting pissed when I see it sabotage itself like it has in recent seasons. So many terrible personnel decisions over the last three seasons... Also to be fair to myself- in the period a few seasons back when Bruce and the players were mostly making good decisions, the players were playing hard, and we were creating chances but we would get unlucky results I was often the biggest defender of the team and individual players (especially strikers) against the inevitable "what have you done for me lately" critics who always pop up after a loss or two. We just haven't had a lot of those "great play, bad result" games in the last couple of seasons for me to defend. My final defense - I've been right more often than wrong.
It's all in good fun. For the record, you have far more knowledge than I do. Your posts are pretty insightful.
Gio dos Santos, Gyasi Zardes not training with #LAGalaxy today. Likely won't make trip to Colorado— Kevin Baxter 🇺🇦🏳️🌈 (@kbaxter11) March 16, 2017
I am not sure I would be worried. He had a surgery on his knee. So he does have to get in shape again. Good news is Cole seems to be back
I have a new problem as I only recently got a smart phone. I'll be on the road for part of the game on Saturday and was wondering if you kind folk could enlighten me on how to get a stream from my phone. MLS LIVE says they will have the game. Any experience with their stream to a traveling phone? I have Verizon 5G if it helps... whatever that means.
Download the official MLS app, and double check that you can see video there. MLS live can be played through it...
When I click on MLS LIVE in the app, I still apparently have to buy a subscription, which I wouldn't mind but, when I click on "blackout restrictions", its says ""Spectrum SportsNet broadcast region and national TV matches". Aren't all of our games either of those?
Yes, MLS Live blacks out your local games. So you can only watch Galaxy games "live" on MLS Live if you are outside Los Angeles and it's not a nationally broadcast game. Although if it's a local (Spectrum) broadcast and you use a VPN you can sometimes trick it to think you are elsewhere. I have no idea though if that will work on a smartphone using cellular data service. Otherwise, local games are blacked out for 24 hours and national games for 48 hours. Although shortly after the game ends, they post a condensed version that is 20 minutes of the highlights and that is never blacked out. I watch most MLS games that way since I can't afford to spend 22 hours each weekend watching soccer (but oh how I dream...)
