Well to be fair there was something objective for the league to build on in the cases of SEA and ATL. From day one SEA set a new MLS standard for regular game attendance with frequent 50k games and a long-standing 40k ave. ATL raised that standard to 80k games, 50k ave. Attendance isn’t the same as atmosphere but those cities in fact do have a lot of loyal fan support. SEA was big on the giant TIFO tradition as well I think. So for the media to call their fan bases energetic is not all hype imo. Often irritating fan bases, but energetic nonetheless.
Portland has a good atmosphere but after visiting the Stanc, I do think the league is playing up LAFC's stadium experience.
I tried to find these numbers but couldn’t. What were the ratings? Been on vacation for 3 weeks - finally finished watching all the games I missed! What a whirlwind!
LAFC may never beat LA Galaxy. They never play their A game which is fine by me. Imagine if they play each other in the playoffs? https://galaxygolazo.wordpress.com/2019/09/11/post/
LA Galaxy blew an opportunity to sneak into second place last weekend. https://galaxygolazo.wordpress.com/2019/09/30/la-galaxy-and-the-disappearing-defense/
