Nice touch and turn by Gyasi. He needs more of that, knowing what he's going to do before the ball gets to him.
I think he probably needs to take that shiny new degree and reconsider whether he wants to be a footballer. He just doesn't have the intensity or hunger of a genuine all in all out striker. He's lost the eye of the tiger the edge if you will and that is usually a sign of, might be time to turn the page on this football thing and try something else.
Liking what I see from J dos. Quality on the ball, and a providing that link up play in the midfield that's been missing since Sarvas and Juni.
Damn. 12 games left. The team has quit. Might have to find something better to do on my Saturday nights.
Jones was a huge mistake, and thats on klein and pete just because he is based in LA didn't mean he had to play in LA I'm a fan of Zardes but he has been stagnant and time for him to go, looks like he needs a new environment even though onalfo is gone his legacy will linger for at least a decade, he was put in charge of developing GII and I don't see one guy that he "developed' being a factor on the G's and unless GII is rebuilt and the new coach is able to develop his players, the G's aren't going to produce squat in house. bring in all the DP's you want but with a weak foundation, this team ain't winning crap for the foreseeable future
Tough match. We very much missed Romain, though Boateng had an excellent game, man. Went to bat for Zardes last week, but his confidence seems gone again and he was pretty indifferent in this match. Even his combo play, which is usually a strength, seemed slower and more off than usual. Pretty frustrating.
Yes he looks like an old man out there who used to play. A waste of salary cap. My other random thoughts: Our guys wilted on the hot plastic. Zardes needs to come off the bench for awhile, to take the pressure off him, help him see the game again. Without Alessandrini and Boateng we are nothing. Steres lackluster play has cost us several points this season. He needs to be a depth player only, not a starter. Looks like JDS will help with possession and be a big upgrade over Garcia but he won't add "bite" to the team. With Pele and Diallo we are finally covered at right back. I don't think Jones will be disciplined enough to play cb. He will push up, lose the ball and leave holes in the D.
Such a terribly built roster. All these pieces do not fit together in any way. No way to fix before next season. Unlikely to fix at all under Klein / vagenas.
