It's going to take an awful lot to persuade me that I should drive down to Stub Hub for this dispirited and dispiriting team. Is it really likely I am going to enjoy myself? Maybe, if Curt gets fired this week..... About the only effective protest I have left is to leave my season seat empty.
And Seattle are looking decent again - without Clint & Jordan. Surely a multi goal loss warrants dismissal. Alas I've become accustomed to "surely this is the last straw" not, in fact, being the last straw.
I will anxiously wait to see Morris victimize Steres again. It's probably a crime somewhere in the universe.
If past is prolog, Curt will play Pele to ruin his confidence, you know keep up the streak of throwing people in to the grinder to make up for his dumbass mistake in selling AJ.
I agree. Steres was beaten for most of the goals we gave up against NE and he got lucky he on another goal when Rowe saved him after he was soundly beaten. I think if Romney was in the middle the last game we likely give up 2, or 3 at most. Romney is a more physical, smarter player, more consistent. And Diallo wasn't that bad except for the mistaken header.
Tell them before the game that this isn't a real Galaxy team. As long as Curt is at the helm it's just a placeholder team.
Overall, I liked Romney as a CB due to the qualities you stated. I think overall, he really only had that one bad game. At this point, I would have Cole, JVD, Romney, and Diallo/Anholt as the backline and Steres serve as the backup CB.
Maybe it's one of those "best sports comebacks of all time" and we go 11-3-0 to grab that first seed. Or,
haha. I brought friends to that 3-6 beatdown we got at the hands of Dallas some years ago....I kept telling them: It's really not like this. We were sitting in the corner section when, during the second half, it seemed like Dallas scored three times in a row, every time they had the ball. Cunningham was dancing celebrations right in front of us.. what a suck night. But fortunately they did come another time- this time to a beatdown we laid on Chivas.
You never know what's going to happen at a sporting event; that's the beauty of it. Sometimes it's good; sometimes it's bad. Sometimes you get to see something really remarkable. In the words of Beavis and Butthead "Sometimes you need stuff that sucks to know what's cool."
I suppose if Zardes doesn't play for the USMNT tonight, we could see him up top on Saturday. Otherwise, barring a formation change, I expect it will be Lassiter given that Jack McInerney wasn't even in the 18 at New England.
DISCO NEWS: #LAGalaxy’s Jack McBean has been suspended for the Seattle game for ‘serious foul play’ vs NE in 43rd minute. Shouldn't the entire team be suspended for 'serious foul play?'
It's going to make for such a great pregame story. "Sigi vs the bastards that fired him midseason." Oh wait we fired midseason him as well. Will make for a long headline.
