Big story will be who (if anyone) we get back from injury and if anyone other the Allesandrini got hurt yesterday. Would be nice if they had a signing or two lined up but I wouldn’t expect that. I didn’t catch Dallas’ 1-1 draw with New England. Not sure what to expect.
If Corona is available to play this Saturday and replaces Cuello, our midfield just got a lot better.
I read Lletget could go in Dallas. The Corona signing might be because they got bad news about Romain... I hope not.
Could see: --------------------------------Zlatan--------------------------------- Ema------------------------JDS-----------------------------Antuna ------------------------Corona-------------------------------------- ---------------------------Carasco----------------------------------- Jorgen-------Polenta------------Steres-----------------Rolf -----------------------------Bingham-------------------------------- Not wonderful but not terrible either. Assumes that Allesandrini and Lleget are not available.
Hate playing Dallas away. Feels like something weird always happens, or worse, we get an ass kicking.
Has anybody heard what is going on with Alessandrini? Or Juninho and Lletget for that matter. Corona is hopefully a good sign. Has not played for Xolos and is coming off an injury so... I would rather see Cuello again. I want to see if he puts that invisible cloak on one more time. Corona Could come in second half for any recently injured starters like LLetget or Romain if they come back but I would not give him a full 90. It's the start of the season. I want to see the new guys. Anybody ever seen this Traore kid play? Is he a long term project or he ready for this?
Romain is apparently week to week, so my guess is he may misses the Dallas game. Rumor was Lleget will be ready for this week, but I haven't heard a thing about Juni.
Positive news if you're hoping that both Corona and Lletget could be available for Dallas. Joe Corona training already with #LAGalaxy Seba is back, we see what else comes out of today’s training ... @kbaxter11 @arieljudas @RobAbramowitz @JuanMapu— John E. Rojas (@jrojasa75) March 7, 2019
That is good news. i was staying away from the news expecting a "Romain had tests blah-blah-blah tear blah-blah-blah 2 to 3 months." Let him rest and get back 100%. I have a feeling with no Ola we are going to need for Romain and Lletget to step up their game as far as scoring is concerned. With no Kamara, Ibrah is going to get much more coverage from teams so somebody other than Ibra has to start scoring on a regular basis.
Now the bad news. Schelotto says Zlatan did not train the last 2 days because of his Achilles and he isn’t sure Ibra will travel to Dallas on Fruday @LAGalaxy— Kevin Baxter 🇺🇦🏳️🌈 (@kbaxter11) March 7, 2019
In all seriousness, what is our plan at center forward? Zlatan is unique and it appears we haven't even tried to get a forward who would make sense as the 1 in a 4-2-3-1 as his backup. Pontius is the only other player listed as a forward on the roster (other than perhaps Jamieson, who was loaned out although I suppose we might retain recall rights). Does GBS actually prefer a 4-3-3 with a false 9? If so, who is our False 9? Is it Lletget or Corona? Could Alvarez fill that role?
Romain Alessandrini is out for at least 2 games GBS said. But it will probably be longer than that @LAGalaxy— Kevin Baxter 🇺🇦🏳️🌈 (@kbaxter11) March 7, 2019
That's interesting because we have a week off after our next two games. The next game after the week off is home on 3/31 vs. Portland. If he misses that I think "week to week" was a pretty misleading diagnosis (which I think we all suspected).
Pontius would be our go to forward. Boateng has also filled in that role before, but that, imo, is stupid as hell. Maybe Cuello or Antuna can play that role? I believe Antuna has played there before at youth level.
Why not - after all he scored 12 goals in 73 games in college against teams like Incarnate Word, Houston Baptist and Univ of Neb - Omaha Campus. He should be fine...
