    Califonia Clásico Round 2

Hopefully our road form holds up... 4-2 in round 1 at Avaya. This one will be at Stanford Stadium.

Teams with a new coach SEEM to have an advantage - they will be pumped, no question. Hopefully we crush 'em.

Visiting teams to StubHub definitively have an advantage.

So an inevitable meeting between an immovable object and an unstoppable force. Oh the drama...

Oops. My bad, not sure why I thought this one was at home – well other than having decades of home & away ingrained in my skull.

Yep, it certainly feels like opposite world doesn't it? "Oh good, we have an away game this week, we might have a chance to win!!"

It's nice to see the 6th seed point to the left of the mean for a change.

Hahaha, that was unsportsmanlike but sinfully delightful. F*** San Jose. I want a win.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I always saw that as a humble act of kindness on Becks' part, bestowing some of his healing powers upon Cronin which helped him rise miraculously off the pitch without pain.

So no Zardes or Gio for this one. Hopefully Villarreal can step up and we can push Alesanndrini out wide again.

Hopefully Curt plays Villarreal. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see Romain play as 10 with BJIV out wide.

Yeah it seems if everyone else is healthy, the only question is whether BJIV or Villarreal starts. Seeing as BJIV started the USOC game and Villarreal didn't, my guess would be that Jose gets the nod.

I guess we could also speculate if Jones or Steres is ready yet. I talked to Steres last Saturday and he said he is really close (he also was a very nice and polite guy). No one has been talking about Jones though....

I am not too bothered with either choice. BJIV was decent when he was subbed on for Zardes last MLS match, and Villarreal has been doing alright in his limited appearances so far.

My preference would be for Villarreal mostly because it puts Alessendrini in his best position.

The real mystery is who plays at RB with Smith suspended. Curt mentioned it after the open cup game but the DisCo announced today he's suspended for 1 game. Do we slot Romney over to RB and play Arellano or Steres (if healthy) or drop Garcia to RB and let Jaime Villarreal start next to Pedro.

No Husidic - still out. I wouldn't be surprised to see Romney slide over to RB if Steres is ready to go. Not as sure if his central mid replacement is Arellano. Do we know how much longer Diallo is out?

I know Leitch has been with the team for many years now. But, he's never coached. Do the smurfs rise up and play hard for him? I'm not buying that. We need to score early and force them to question themselves and try to adjust.

    Go Galaxy!
