Not a time for rewarding players. If you think McBean is the better pk taker then he should take it. But not for any other reason.
I don't understand this team at all. I have absolutely no frame of reference for what's happening here.
Two questions: 1) what does everyone think of Jaime Villarreal? Seems very solid so far. If it wasn't for all our injuries, he'd make Rafa completely obsolete. 2) Gato was head and shoulders above Cobi in the booth. What did everyone think of El Gato?
Thought el gato was a bit stiff and was consciously trying to be fair and not too much of a homer. Will probably be a bit more relaxed with more games. Cobi will be out for Gold Cup too yea?
1. I thought Jaime had a pretty good game, better than Rafa's usual fare. 2. I watched on Altitude Sports and had different announcers so I can't answer. But it was much better than the usual, listening to Tutino ask Cobi "What do you think the Galaxy should do now that they are down a goal? You think they should try to get more offense?" and Cobi replying "No. Its more than that. They need to get more shots to go into the net."
I thought El Gato was great on commentary compared to Cobi, it was a blast of fresh air and I hope the G's utilize him more.
I'm the same way. I keep expecting us to run into a wall of bad results but somehow we keep pulling rabbits out of the hat. This game was a perfect example - we came out absolutely terrible but take the lead within 5 minutes? Our defense makes terrible mistakes throughout the game but we only give up one goal? We play at altitude but run COL off the field the 2nd half? None of it makes any sense. Alessandrini is a big part of it. He snatches results for us repeatedly. He is so much better than I expected after watching his first couple of games.
1) thought Jaime did well, especially if you compare him to Rafa. 2) I was wondering who that was! I thought El Gato was very very good, both in presentation and insight. I like Cobi well enough, but I thought El Gato sounded a bit more professional, and really on point. Especially for his first game (at least that I'm aware of).
OK, I've decided I'm on board with this team. No more complaining from me. Obviously the team we've been forced to play all season has its flaws but I'm super impressed with our road record. Can't wait to see this team if we can get everyone healthy and add an impactful DP.
I'm in DC at the moment so the MLSlive broadcast was Altitude. But, having said that, it's impossible for El Gato to be worse then Cobi. I'm sorry I missed it and (without even hearing it) I wish they'd make the change permanent.
