I think there is a reason Polenta plays center back rather than outside back. He doesn’t like to track back - too much running for his inclinations. Signing Gonzalez may end up making us worse. You would think we would learn our lesson building non-balanced rosters.
For shame LAG.. Gio Dos Santos must be rolling over in his cash right now.. predictable offense, slow attack.. no diagonal play
And Steres has been our best player today (along with Bingham and Gonzalez). We desperately needed a striker and it's still an issue.
Really really wish I hadn’t been. I think the team needed to score really really early on and frustrate the worst team in the league. Quite the opposite. We just don’t have a killer instinct. Pass pass pass pass. Never shoot.
Obvious 30 minutes in we were going to lose the game 1-0. Utterly stupid tactics. How many tines are we going to fave a 3v3 counter without fixing it?
You know the last few years there have been so many truly embarrassing losses I can’t say this makes the top ten since Bruce’s exit, but that it would be tough to rank this one speaks volumes. I’m sticking by my estimate the Galaxy won’t be a good team again until 2020.
My confidence in GBS has really dropped over past couple weeks. It’s not the losses - crap happens. But the tactics in recent games have been really terrible.
Well I am done with Antuna. He is as bad as Boateng. He is all speed and absolute garbage crosses. He is pretty much useless on the attack because of this. Also Polenta is not an outside back. We need to either play him and Gonzalez or him and Steres in the center only. But one of those three are going to need to set on the bench going forward. If Trajore is healthy we need to ride with him the rest of the season. I'd even try Pontius back there. Joe Corona and Lletget are toothless in the attack. Just zero willingness to shoot. Seriously what in the bloody hell are you 2 doing?? This team needs to do some soul searching. Because we have to much talent and ZERO excuse to not have enough discipline to not walk away with a point.
I swear this game smelled like a loss.. for better or worse the Galaxy always feel like the Lakers.. in that they play half assed as if they can flip the switch whenever they want (it was bad toward end of Bruce era)... going into the match I thought of the losing streak the Rapids were on and I thought of the 76ers who were also on a historic losing streak (28 straight) and how they came to LA and got the win... so heated right now
We’ve also double down on the same exact player twice now. Corona, Lleget, Alvarez are all the same player. Gonzalez hasn’t been an upgrade over Steres, and we’re toothless without Ibra. GBS and DtK have their work cut out for them.
It’s really gross that the Galaxy social media accounts are playing up that goal line clearance from Gonzalez. If that’s the best highlight you have of the game against the last place team in the entire team ... don’t tweet. Just shut up and let us all forget we lost to a team that had two points before this game in May and left with three. Hours later, a Game of Thrones Finale, and IM STILL PISSED WE LOST AT HOME TO COLORADO WHO HAD TWO POINTS ALL SEASON LONG.
