This is either exactly what the doctor ordered or ... A total nightmare about to happen. Tune in and find out.
I really hope JDS can start and I hope Alvarez is available to come in off the bench and get his first minutes....
Rotate as many as possible. The team looks pathetic. Ibrah sits down and takes a break. I don't give two craps about how he feels about it. Put both Alvarez on field. Efrain play u-17th final thursday. He qualified Mexico to final on 1-0 win vs Haiti. He should be back. This a very winnable game vs Colorado, even with our bench. It is painfully clear our regulars are tired and unable to recover. We win or we lose, doesn't really matter if our regulars continue to be fatigued. What we gain here, we could lose with other teams. They have to regain their form to be effective going forward or what do we have to look forward to?
I don’t think Ibra plays Saturday due to suspension. Even if the DisCo already ruled against some players, I think they punish him.
It’s back! The #LAGalaxy pop-up museum will be open for viewing Sunday. #LAvCOL 💙⚪️💛 https://t.co/16AXYQIi5t— LAG Confidential (@LAGConfidential) May 17, 2019
Efrain should be back and in good spirits: LA Galaxy Homegrown midfielder Efrain Alvarez played a role as Mexico defeated the United States 2-1 in extra time in the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship final on Thursday to win the title. Alvarez, the Galaxy phenom who is eligible for both countries, set up Mexico's first-half equalizer with a deft chip that was headed in by Santiago Muñoz.
Not to burst the bubble too much, but when Alvarez was in the game, the U.S. dominated possession and put multiple shots on goal and off the woodwork. The score could have easily been 3-1 at half. Alvarez was pulled at the half and Mexico immediately started controlling the ball more, actually getting off better chances and eventually winning in extra time.
I was reading what El Tri supporters were saying about Efrain, many seem to think of him as a tricky player that doesn’t or perhaps can’t score “normal” goals. I recall many folks saying very similar things about José Villarreal when he was coming up and we were trying to evaluate him.
tweets from training suggest that Zlatan is training in a "pinny" and won't speak to media after practice. Reporters suspect he is suspended for the match.
This will be my 2nd live game this year (Minnesota), and of course Zlatan will be out for this game too. Last year I had some tough Zlatan luck too. The only games I went to, was the game he was suspended for after his Montreal suspension and the last game of the season against Houston, where he was basically absent.
Zlatan suspended for two games... https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...mmittee-suspends-zlatan-ibrahimovic-two-games
Here ya go. I bet he'll play Sunday, maybe even start... Maybe just throw him up top and see how he does? https://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2019/...io-alvarez-will-be-available-selection-sunday
It would probably be better than putting Atuna there. F.Alvarez Antuna Lletget Pontius Corona JDS Traore Polenta Gonzalez Araujo Bingham If F. Alveraz cant go Zubak up top. If JDS cant go give me Junihno
Serendipitous suspension on the Lion but two games? A bit of an overkill as Johnson initiated the fracas by confronting Ibrah in the first place. He needs the break in any event. Rest or sub-in Jona if he is not 100% also. This is a throw-away game for me.
Sorry, nothing justified Ibra grabbing him by the neck. I would be furious if say a SEA or LAFC player did that to one of our players. Ibra was way out of line and deserved the suspension. Agree he needs a break. I said he didn’t look right emotionally a couple weeks ago. Homesick, personal problems, whatever it is he just seems to not be enjoying his time on the field as much as last year. Even when we were on the winning streak he looked out of sorts.
The favoritism MLS shows the LA Galaxy is ridiculous. Zlatan clearly needs a break to get his body and head right and the coach won't take the necessary steps, so the MLS FO steps in and does us a solid. Wink wink, MLS, wink wink... thanks.
he'll play in the No. 10 role IMO. He's been training well so he could see extended time.— Adam Serrano (@AdamSerrano) May 17, 2019 Alvarez starts at the 10?
Hmmm... If he's been training with the team in the 10 role.... -------------------Antuna -Lletget---------Alvarez---------Pontius ------------Corona---------JDS* Polenta**--Gonzalez--Steres--Araujo ------------------Bingham *I guess Carrasco if JDS isn't ready, or put Lletget there and add Boateng out left.... **I like the idea of getting our best 4 defenders on the backline, and I think that lineup does it best. I know Polenta isn't a left back, but he is a better defender and distributor of the ball than either Sdkkjldk or Traore, the question is does he have the fitness to run up and down that flank all game...
This game could be Antuna & Lletget's chance to get their scoring mojo going. COL has allowed a (an?) historically bad 30 goals in 11 games, or 2.7 g/gm. In they continued at this rate - they wont, but if they did - they would allow 93 goals over the course of this season! For context - the leakiest defense in MLS history (I think) was the 70g (2.1 g/gm) allowed by MIN in 2017.
