Chicago still have Dax & Schweinsteiger in midfield. Father Time might have a say there. Although, I’ve always liked Dax. Their striker, Nikolic, is pretty good. And, that Mihailovic kid looked promising for the USMNT recently. But, he’s still young. Hopefully, their balance is as off as I am convincing myself it is right now. If I’m Chicago, I’m attacking any side that Jona’s not on. Could be Fletcher’s or Skjelveccio’s, doesn’t matter. Damn, we gonna need multiple goals. Go Galaxy!
Ola on the way out Gio still here Porous defense Rain forecast Saturday's opener should be fun. All the stadium bars better be open early!
Zlatlan swore Goals so I am going to hold him to it. Well here is my predicted lineup. Let's hope they actually make the pitch otherwise we are not going to make for a decent outing. ---------------------Zlatlan ----------Llegett-----------Romain ------------------ -----------------------Gio ----------JDS---------------Juninho Skjelvik---Polenta----Romney---Rolf --------------------Bingham Subs= Boateng, Kitchen, Pontius

Antuna———Zlatan——Alessandrini ——————?????? —-—-Carrasco——-JDS Sjfkfk—Polenta—Steres—Feltscher —————Bingham Looks like that’s our starting day lineup. Based on pre-season, the question marks will probably be Cuello who will be replaced at some point in the second half by Alvarez. Or the other option is to start Boateng in that spot, I guess.
Is Alvarez that close to getting minutes? Reports from his preseason appearances was that he looked very far from MLS-ready, but I didn't actually watch the games. All aside, I'm pumped for the season and ready to be back at the stadium. I don't know who's going to tumble out of that tunnel, but looking forward to seeing Romain, Zlatan and Jona at least.
I agree that Cuello is the likely starter based on the preseason, but if it wasn't him or Alvarez (and Pontius was still hurt), it seems more likely that you would put Alessandrini in that spot than Boateng
While I am not at all happy to see Seb on that list, his is the one position where the team actually has some depth.
Yep, quotes from GBS make it seem like this is our starting XI for Saturday: Antuna———Zlatan——Alessandrini ——————Cuello —-—-Carrasco——-JDS Sjfkfk—Polenta—Steres—Feltscher —————Bingham
He's got a good first touch. A bit more polished that the typical college player. But he's slight of build and not very quick. He'll be good in the possession game but I don't know how well he will handle the physicality of MLS and the teams that high-press. I really only see him being of use in a 4-3-3 where he plays the 10 in the hole behind the 9. And have no idea if he will become a serviceable MLS player or not. I guess we shall see on Saturday how he handles a real game...
Alvarez isn’t ready and Cuello got overrun by Colorado. I don’t trust either right now. Since we only have one striker, we should play with 5 in the midfield. Jona will be there to help Carrasco and Cuello. If we need a late goal, will Pontius be ready?
I'm with you. He seems OK but I don't think he can create much and isn't great at defense. Basically, he can hold down space. I'm OK with that for a winger (if that's what we have) but it's a problem at #10.
I'm very much excited for the opener. It seems like a longer than normal off season, will be great to enjoy being back at the stadium with the family in tow.
