Just like Fast and Furious sequels, just when you think they're finally done, along comes another. Colorado Rapids v. Montreal Impact Dick's Sporting Goods Park Saturday, September 30, 2017 7:00 p.m. MDT Colorado is 7-18-5, leading the Wooden Spoon race by 2 points. Montreal is 11-14-6, currently on the outside looking in on the Eastern playoff teams, 4 points off the pace. Colorado is 6-5-3 at home. Montreal is 3-7-5 on the road. Colorado has scored a league low 27 goals and surrendered 46. Montreal has scored 49 and surrendered 52. Discuss. Diss. Be disgusted. Eventually this torture will end. (Yes, I know what the song is really about. But I couldn't resist.)

1-1 draw, goal by Badji. Montreal has a horrible defense and an above average offense. Combined with the Rapids decent defense and horrible offense, plus the fact that I expect the Rapids to experiment even more with the lineup now that we're officially eliminated, makes a draw likely. Both teams can score but neither team is really going to control the game. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2017/09/first-of-three-at-home.html
How ugly is this match? First half of the season: Colorado 6-10-1 Montreal 5-6-6 Second half of the season to date: Colorado 1-8-4 Montreal 6-8-0 Last five matches: Colorado 1-3-1 Montreal 1-4-0 Colorado is last in the league in goals scored, shots on goal, fouls suffered, and corner kicks. Two teams stumbling toward nothing.
That song was in their set and it was sort of a sing-along like several others which I'm sure was awesome if you were there -- over television I would have preferred just them though.
With seemingly nothing to play for at this point in the season, Rapids win 2-1. Goals by Badji and Aigner.
Totally unnecessary tackle by Watts, both cleats up, and zero chance to win the ball. That was a red all the way. I certainly hope that is the last time we ever see Watts wearing Colorado colors. On a positive note, the Rapids are still only down one man, since Watts didn't count anyway.
Duvall left the bench in a wheelchair. I wouldn't be surprised to see DisCo review the Watts play and pen him for one or two additional matches.
I'll say this about the Watts red. I think it's an orange but couldn't complain about a ref on the field. I don't think it being a yellow is a "clear and obvious" mistake that justifies the use of VAR.
@JasonMa Watts may well have snagged a YC if Duvall had been able to continue. I think the injury and cart-off influenced the review and ultimate card.
