Dallas bringing a lot of pressure. Howard spilled that shot in front of goal and just got to it in time.

Wynne and Howard to blame on that. Wynne keeps him onside and then doesn't make a play on the ball, and Howard just watches it go by.

The Rapids have dropped 5 points in the first 4 games on 90th minute or later goals conceded.

Another late goal to give up points. Road points are nice but that was winnable

Two more points given away. That's five on the season.

EDIT: you beat me to it, Jason.

Frustrating to give away 2 pts. You have to close out games. It’s a must on the road. It’s a must at home. As much as I’d like to put the blame on Hundson, the personnel was out there. Closing out the games falls on the players. They must have the self discipline not to turn their brain off for a half second. A point on the road is always welcomed but feels more like we pissed two away instead of earning one.

They can't keep allowing other teams to control the game. It seems fortunate they have 5 points.

Possession and shots stats so far:

45.7% possession; 11 to 13 shots; road vs Revs
38.4% possession; 8 to 20 shots; home vs SporKS
44.6% possession; 12 to 15 shots; home vs Philly
36.9% possession; 9 to 17 shots; road vs FCDallas

I'll give them a little bit of a break since we're still waiting for first choice players.

Has it been a failure to close or the law of averages catching up? If they were closing out this game it would be like Pablo's 2016...something unsustainable to me.

FCD did a poor job of maintaining possession. They had plenty of looks, but couldn't finish. They had some good crosses, with nobody on the end of them.

A better team would have annihilated the Rapids.

I don't want to get all Pollyanna up in here, but it is significant (to me) that the Rapids have not been shut out in 4 games.

Road points are still hard to come by, it is tough to see those two slip away.

i hear you. I do. It’s like the honeymoon stage of dating. You’re looking to impress. You have that energy. so you are “scoring” left and right and never get shut out. But then you settle in, get comfortable and have to put in the effort to maintain that scoring. So while we are scoring right now, I’m concerned if we are still going to have that spark 6-10 games down the road. The introduction of Boli, I hope, allow us to maintain that spark. I’m optimistic that’s for sure.

If that's the case then I hope the Rapids never get married and keep playing the field.

You know, that explains a lot. Once the ring went on the finger after the 2010 season all scoring stopped.

Hit. Nail. On. Head. You have the right idea but......do the Rapids? That’s the million dollar question.

I was wondering why Howard just stayed a few steps off his line and didn't come out to catch or punch when the ball was in the air for an hour or so. This isn't to absolve Wynne or others on that sequence.

Should the Rapids not make the playoffs three of these first four matches will come back to haunt them.

Me too. I didn't expect it without Aigner, Boli and perhaps Gashi. It will be interesting to see what happens when those three are getting regular playing time. I find it interesting that neither Aigner nor Boli made the trp to Dallas. Any ideas about why?

Losing points at the end is painful and becoming a trend. Having said that, I think they looked ok away from home. Boateng looked lost when he was forced wide, looks better in the middle. Blomberg is good on ball, but sometimes his decision making is poor. Badji and Mason seem to work well together, happy about that.

First the good--the Rapids are a lot better this year. We're watching professional soccer again and we're scoring goals.

The bad (which just got worse when I read today's quotes)--they are throwing away points in unacceptable (to me) fashion. The tying goal is on an unchallenged long ball over the top? Are you kidding me? Unacceptable in high school. Dallas had pulled a defender for an extra forward and we still only have three guys back. And this is after blowing goals in two of the first three games. No learning from mistakes by this group. [Example, if we had lost the game on the play where Howard hit the ball off of a Dallas head; that would have been bad luck, not bad tactics. There is a difference.]

Then I read this quote from Hudson today, "I'm incredibly proud of the players. To come to a difficult place like this...I'm just pleased. Pleased with the performance. We're scoring in every game now, we look a threat going forward, and I think in the end, it probably was a fair result." Okay...

And a small point brought up by the announcers at the end of the game. Why didn't they bring up Sjoberg for a final kick in the box? And then instead of kicking it in the box, they kick it wide for a final whistle. Leads me to believe it's a coaching staff that doesn't pay attention to details. Or maybe they didn't want to score because they didn't want to upset a "fair result."
