Yeah, he wasn't in the squad again today. I wonder if the inclusions on the bench were just to convince him to sign a new deal. Since he signed, he seems to be out of their short-term plans.

I thought at the time he should hold out until he gets a few real appearances to prove himself to the manager before signing, and use that stipulation as incentive to play him.

Most EPL managers are still stubborn bitches when it comes to integrating from their academy. They've gotten better with domestics, but it remains unsatisfactory. At least Otasowie has benefit of being an English citizen to help them make up the numbers.

He hasn't even been on the bench since he re-signed with them. Pretty crappy way to treat him IMO... let him ride the bench and appear in a Europa game to entice him and then send him down the minute he re-ups. I like the Wolves coach... but he keeps running out the same players even though they have played an absolute TON of games. They are one of the teams with the fewest number of players that have seen the pitch this season despite playing all of those Europa games. Perhaps that is why they faded for a bit.?.?

Watched wolves for the first time today. They should have at least tied, if not beaten wivverpuil.
If he actually gets in the lineup, thT will say a lot.

Yeah, I watched them more carefully several weeks ago for the first time. I think that might have been against Liverpool also, and Wolves are a quality team. I think they lost by one that game and had a goal called back through one of those stupid VAR decisions where the forward's arm was behind the last defender. But they definitely weren't one of those mid-tier, "bunker and counter against the big boys" teams. They came out and knocked the ball around and took it to Liverpool for stretches.

They had a couple young english players on the bench as well over our boy. Although not sure if either of them play the same position

I'm not sure how permanently. But the window closed and it looks like he is the main backup at CB.

Based on the last five or six matchday squads it seems that Otasowie is sixth behind Coady, Dendoncker, Saiss, Boly, and Kilman.

I don’t get it. He looked like he belonged when he played in a cup match.

If only the Premier League cared more about development outside of Southampton.

Super weak treatment by Wolves IMO. They have him on the senior team bench and on the cusp of playing to woo him into re-signing... he does... and then not a sniff since. Wolves Youth Academy players need to take note of this. Owen could have gone to any number of teams in the Championship and be playing right now.

In my limited experience following players in the PL2...

If you are one of the better players in the PL2, you can hack it in the ELC the following year. Depending on where Wolves finish (top 4?) and what they do with their squad for next season, very well could see Owen on loan to a team like Wigan or Swansea.
