Pellegrini's parents are white Italians. That makes him white. Maybe you can say that he is a white Hispanic, but he's white nonetheless. Trying to suggest that he and Mourinho are minorities is comical.

I will make sure to send this post to Taylor and tell him to STFU."Based on the OMB definition", The EPL has a better record as far as hiring "minority" managers than the NFL. So move along, nothing to see there.
SMH. This is really beyond comical, it is caricatural.
This is further proof that some will go through all sort of hoops and circumvoluted theories to defend the status quo. No different from what we see in real life.

As it's been pointed out, more problematic in the NFL and MLB. NHL, I can only think of three notable black people in NHL off the top of my head. Ignila, Subban, and Fuhr (going old school). Hockey is a sport that requires a lot of funds, especially at junior level, so you're not going to see many poor minorities playing.

Spanish isn't the only Latin language. Why are French Canadians considered Latino?

What does the OMB definition of minority have to do with the question of minorities in the English Premier League? You do realize that by your reading Nigeria is composed of 99.99% minorities? In Europe, being Portuguese is no more a minority than being Swiss, Dutch or Croatian.

To that end, why is the Office of Management and Budget defining minorities in the US, anyway?

It's as absurd as suggesting that Manuel Pellegrini is a "person of color", because he's from Chile. Which, of course, is the point :)

Also, I'll just add that contrasting the "minority" owners in the EPL vs. ones in American sports is a pointless metric; the EPL is global, so the "minorities" that buy those teams aren't minorities where they're from - they're rich foreigners. American sports are far more insular (and have far more stringent controls over who can buy teams), so you have fewer foreigners, if any. (The Jaguars, I suppose, are an example.) But the issue with minorities is of national minorities, not foreigners. It's not a gain for acceptance of UK muslims because the rulers of Abu Dhabi buy Man City. Their situations are completely unrelated.

What has this board come to? Someone who once gave Homer Simpson the Denver Broncos instead of the Dallas Cowboys is the voice of reason now.

Welbeck on target for England. Assisted by Ox. Sounds like Ox had a lively game once introduced.

    Of course it's San Marino.

Slovenia about to beat Switzerland as well (Switzerland of World Cup Pot One-ness).

Why is he still in goal for Spain? After imploding in the WC, i figured his career was over.

    It's 2014, breh.

It's not really surprising that Slovakia should beat Spain at home. Hell, they drew them at home during the 2012 Euro qualies.

unfortunately thats how he is defined in U.S. affirmative action guidelines. With a green card-, he counts for your diversity quota, which is completely ridiculous.
