Linked with Alberto Moreno for LB. FA (Liverpool) in July and played under Emery at Sevilla.

He’s shit moreno, can’t defend just fast

We could rob Chillwell? I would take Malcom if we needed at rw but we have mikhi

I want a proper lw who scores like lozano

Haven’t seen it yet, but Chambers played at RB today against Cardiff and apparently had such a mare that he was subbed off at half time.

Just watched the first 45. Out of position on Cardiff's first goal when he? gave the ball away in the center of the midfield and they countered behind him and a couple of professional fouls when he was clearly beaten. The second earned him a yellow and gave Cardiff the free kick from which they scored their second, though not until several Fulham defenders made a meal of the clearance and Tim Ream was beaten by the scorer. Then with about 10 minutes left in the half he and the right side center back switched positions. Not a confident display, but I'm not sure he was Fulham's worst defender.

I don't know why coaches keep trying to play him at right back. It's not the first time he as lined up at right back for Fulham this season and Middlesborough also played him there on several occassions. Personally I don't think he is going to make it at Arsenal. Holding is a better defender.

I had high hopes for Chambers but agree with most now that he is done here. Jenks 2.0 is likely accurate both in his ability and the likelihood that we offload him before his contract expires.

We bought bargain players and got bargain talent. It's really staggering how little talent came in over the last 4-6 years.

Maybe worse? I've seen very very little quality from Callum for years now.

6 years includes Ozil, Sanchez, Monreal, PEA, Mhiki, and Lacazette. None of whom were cheap or untalented. You have a better argument with 4 years, but that still includes PEA, Mhiki, and Lacazette, plus depending on how you rate him, Xhaka. This doesn't include young players, like Holding and Mavropanos, who have shown some potential.

Whats most interesting is that PEA, Mhiki, and Lacazette came in 6 months

Thanks, I’m sure it’s not as bad as it sounded. I think coaches try to play him there because he is good on the ball and has some defensive nous. In the game though he always seems to get his body position wrong and he has no pace for the prem. Unless he turns this loan around we’d be lucky to offload him at all.

Bargain? Chambers was 18m. That’s no bargain.

AW should have stuck with the French league and just bought established players to fill the homegrown quota.

Chambers development was wrecked by moving to Arsenal under Wenger

Just one more flawed talent on the scrap heap

    Didn't Chambers cost 16 million?

Looks like a bad investment of resources — mixed with late-stage Wenger young player development failure — imo.

    Yup
Holding cost a fracture and he will at least have a decent career in epl
Chambers Is best suited for championship witH an occasional promotion

I think chambers would be ok as a rcb in a 3 at the back but he’s not good enough in a 2 man partnership and horrible as a rb

Reading a rumor this morning that N'Golo Kante is not happy with the role he is being asked to play under the new manager at Chelsea. Ramsey has mentioned Chelsea & ManU as EPL options. How about a swap? Kante/Torreira as a base with Ozil at the 10 would be money.

It was a bad purchase - that’s all
The saints conveyor belt doesn’t produce quality defensive players
In recent memory - only Wayne bridge stands out
    Low bar

I won’t beat AW over the head with such a purchase. It’s more the unwillingness to cut bait on the bad investments and the over reliance on injury-prone and inconsistent players that I take issue with.

    I agree with that too

But also in the last years of Wumger Arsenal seemed to specialise in creating a bunch of talented yet deeply flawed players

    Defenders who can't defend properly.

Midfielders with obvious tactical knowledge gaps.

Wilshere is the poster boy for a highly talented player who doesn't know how to play midfield properly. There is really no excuse for that.

Mustafi is another whose development is essentially ruined.

Do you not consider van Dijk to be part of that conveyor belt because they weren't his very first club or do you not rate him as a defender?
