I really hope this is some kind of strategy to lower the price of target players and increase ours or something.. Real Madrid's underwhelming season is coming to an end, the club has analysed the issues and concluded that it's necessary to help the players recover their poor form, rather than sell and replace them with new signings. After Militao, I expect only 3 more signings. Hazard, a CM and a CF. And Rodrygo likely to join. Marcelo likely to stay. Marca said this in another article. "There are going to be changes in the squad, that's clear," Zidane has already said. Although he's adamant that it won't be a 'revolution' and rather an 'evolution', those changes are thought to be sweeping. Gareth Bale's case is perhaps the most significant, and Zidane isn't counting on him for next season. https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2019/04/17/5cb63eddca47413d238b45fe.html
not sure if to cry or laugh (if this is actually true). I'm not sure what Zidane wants to do next season that will be different than this season. Its the same Marcelo and the same Bale, wtf he thinks will change?
ZZ said this in the pre match press conference before Leganes game. Doesn't sound like someone who's planning to depend on dead weight next season. Real Madrid could sell several players this summer in order to finance big-money moves. "There are a lot of players here who can be sold," Zinedine Zidane has admitted. "They are all very good and many clubs want Real Madrid players, that is not new." (Marca)— RumorsTransfersNews24/7 📰 (@rumorstransfers) April 15, 2019
Zidane: "There will be talk about Toni, other players who I don’t want… but all players here are big players and good players. The only thing I will say is that we will have changes, we will know at the end of the season which players will stay."— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 14, 2019 Zidane getting laughs “There are players who will stay, we will not change them all. But I will not tell you [names] now.”— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 14, 2019 Prob most interesting this morn was Zidane putting Kroos on the list of 'we'll see at end of season" like Bale and Marcelo, not the "I definitely want them to stay" of Varane, Ramos and Benzema.— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 14, 2019
Zidane on if has spoken to players about changes in summer: “I have not spoken with any of them yet. We are still playing games, and we still have seven games to play. We still have to time to say what I need to say.”— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 14, 2019 Zidane suggesting a loan for Llorente "The only thing now for Marcos is he needs to play more. That will be good for him - I remember the year he played at Alaves, he played regularly, and he had a phenomenal season.”— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 14, 2019
Personally I'd sell Ceballos, Isco, Bale, Marcelo, Mariano, Vallejo, Luca, Kovacic, Courtois, James, Silva, Mayoral and Tomas. Loan Diaz and Oscar We'd make a fortune enough to buy whoever we need, like an actual defence. But that's just me lol
Dude stop with the negative Zidane agenda. Anyways, for me I hope we aren't starting mext season with Llorente gone, while Isco is still here. That would be a travesty. We should be selling Bale, Kroos, Kovacic and Isco at the least. Replacing with Hazard, Eriksen, Pogba and Jovic. That is a start.
Yeah lets start next season with a lot of these players while Barcelona bought Frenkie and will buy De Ligt and a CF. Its not like that they are 10 points ahead of us or something... I don’t believe ZZ and Flo are this stupid. It would be a waste of next season and I can not handle another season like this.
Welp! I guess Barcelona is gonna cruise to a CL victory now. Our only hope is Man City. That's not likely either, so freebie for Barca. Btw, Ajax will totally bend over backwards for Barcelona if they draw them. After all, they've already taped up all the Ajax players for next year. They're gonna hand their future club an easy one.
Zidane had Llorente hot off a fantastic season with 3000 minutes of starting lineup first division football and he absolutely buried him under the bench. It's funny Zidane is referencing that loan spell because after he returned, Zidane didn't even look at the guy. Not sure what anybody expected, that he would return, see Llorente struggling with injuries and playing time and figure he's better now? Zidane doesn't like the player and never did. Apparently Lopetegui didn't either, giving the club a pass to sell him in the summer.
The choice to sell or loan out Llorente was always pretty obvious to me for the simple reason that Casemiro is much better than him. He seems to be kind of injury prone as well, at least this season where he missed 16 games.
Llorente can make the national team elsewhere. It's pointless to stick around and watch others play in Madrid
If evolution instead of revolution is the way to go, ZZ may as well bring back Ronaldo while we are at it.
I think you'll find a lot that will disagree with you there. Casemiro is better, I wouldn't say much better. I have time for both of them on my team.
For me Casemiro is clearly better. I mean we are talking about a player who is 1a and 1b with Kante as the best DM in the world. However that takes nothing away from Llorente whom has proven to be pretty decent. I wish Zidane would re-think this. He is great depth for us.
I don’t think Casimero is better than Llorente actually, other than perhaps strength he doesn’t do anything better than him. Stats pretty much back this up.
