Hello Andrew, I'm both incredibly sad about your loss and happy that your dad had his wonderful family with him at his end.

We met just a couple of times on his trips to Seattle and we chatted about families. He was so proud of his. I kept up on your football playing though him. He told me lately the the 'ball' is still part of your mancave.

We won't forget Liverbird. He was the first person to welcome me some15 years ago to BS.
Thank you for being the man you are and letting us share.
    Ken

    YNWA so RIP Bob.

Andrew, my deepest sympathies for your loss. Although I never met your father in person, I have enjoyed sharing with him our great love and interest in Liverpool FC. Know that he enriched discussions and engaged with people well beyond those he knew personally. Your father, and you all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences. Like many, I've been interacting online with Bob for over 15 years in our online community. His wit and love for footy will be missed. Grace and peace be with you at this time of loss.

  6. My condolances to the family. May you all find the strength to cope with your loss.
I've enjoyed his (always positive) reactions to my posts about one of his favourite players, good old Dirk.
    RIP Liverbird.

I continue to be depressed by this thread.

So damn annoying - I looked at Bob's post's - he started chemo in early June and got through it very well.

He was given an all clear and was waiting for a bone marrow transplant. It sounded really positive.

Next thing we are reading on July 10th - he's departed.

Man - my dad's was terrible because he had all the bad genetic markers so we knew it was bad news from the get go - but to see how fast this happened - just 1 month - really really saddens me for Bob and family.

Andrew, please accept my condolences. I met your dad just once at a LFCDC event hosted by QueenVic. We had a very pleasant conversation including about the folks on this forum and the wonderful banter we share. This was posted by LFCDC today:

    You'll Never Walk Alone, Bob

On Monday, our friend and fellow Liverpool F.C. supporter, Bob Brown, passed away. Bob was a founding member of LFCDC, and our supporters club does not exist without him and his contributions over the years. In those early days at Ri Ra Irish Pub in Arlington, Bob's guidance and wisdom helped form LFCDC into the great supporters club that it is today.

We will miss Bob's high fives after Liverpool goals, his hugs after Liverpool victories, and his famous post-match reports.

In lieu of flowers, Bob's family has asked folks to consider making a donation to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (more information at https://www.mhopus.org/donate/). This group changes the lives of children by providing them with instruments that they could not otherwise afford. As a lover of music, Bob believed that music makes children smarter, happier, and brings light to the world.

To support this effort, on Friday, July 13 (tomorrow), our friends at the Anfield Shop will be donating all one-day profits to Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation in honor of Bob. This is a tremendous and generous gesture from the Anfield Shop, and we thank them for their amazing support.
Please visit www.anfieldshop.com tomorrow to support a great cause in honor of a great man and get your LFC gear in preparation for the upcoming U.S. preseason tour and Premier League season.

All the best to your family. Bob will be remembered fondly .

i'm heartbroken.... I put a note a few weeks ago about my struggle with depression on my facebook and Bob, even though we met only a few times and really just knew each other through here, put a fantastic message of support and optimism for my struggles and also his. that was the type of human being he was. one of the best ones. we are running out of those. rest in peace, Bob.
