It's been 7 years. We learned a lot from CQ but with current situation we only stagnate with him. He is a good defensive minded coach, a master of psychology, and a better youth scout. But what can you do if you have a formula 1 driver but your car is Kia Pride (from 90s). We have raw talent and a good coach but that's pretty much all we have. We don't have enough money, professional management, lobby power, organization, or facilities. Plus we have tons of corrupt and jealous managers and officials who want a peace of cake. CQ has changed our weakest spot to our weapon (our defense) but he also butchered the creative play and offensive style we had back in late 90s and early 2000s. He is very hard to please as well, so over the years you guys get tired of his rants. I was his critic at the beginning, then I became a fan, and recently I think it is really hard for him and us to watch us going on circles instead of upward direction with our current football association. After WC it is time for a new coach with new ideas and it is enough torture for CQ as well. If he takes over any Asian team (which I don't think he does at least for near future), it will take him some time to force all players and fans to get used to his result-related style. First year he was in Iran, he didn't pay any attention to our league and was almost clueless. It took almost 2 years for him to get some good result with our team. So If you are looking for a quick fix, CQ is not your cup of tea. But if you are looking for a fundamental change and you are OK with an ultra defensive play, then CQ is your king. Just very recently CQ said he won't stay after WC, and he didn't attend AC 2019 draw ceremony for that matter.
