it's official. MLS is back, watching Orlando and NYC. Nani makes his debut for Orlando in the 70th minute.A few empty seats in Orlando but overall looks like a good turnout and good atmosphere….and sunny weather….

Lots of draws today with only 2 wins so far, the Loons and TFC with the points. If we don't, at the very least, draw it will be considered major suckage.

Beckham's new proposed training facility in Ft Lauderdale at Lockhart Stadium. He should just forget about that and play there....

Yes, go Ajax! I played on a youth team back in the 70's called Ajax, complete with the red and white uniforms and a coach from Holland who started the team, so I have always had a soft spot for Ajax. It will be great to see them in the friendly this season.

IIRC - there's an Ajax club in Modesto.

Yup - I was right: https://www.mysa-ajax.org/. I've seen a number of these teams in tournaments I reffed in the Bay Area.

Never thought I'd see the Modesto Ajax team mentioned on here. Brings back memories. Of course, we were ignorant back then and pronounced it a jacks (something Cruyff himself did when speaking about the team in English, curiously enough).

    A quote from an owner.......

Wonder who would buy Magnus, Thompson or Tarbell?

Not sure if Claudio Ranieri is the answer at Roma but I always liked him as a coach. What he did at Leicester City 3 years ago was an incredible accomplishment. Welcome Back Ranieri!

I didn’t know Ranieri was so handsome as a young man. He looks a little bit like jose mourinho too (but much better looking)

My Dutch youth coach also referred to our team as Ajacks, I don't recall him ever saying Eyeyax.

Why would a football player from Pittsburg want to play soccer for us? :D

Big fan of the creativity shown by Forward Madison FC. Their social media game is on point as well. Quakes, and the rest of the league could learn a thing or two from some of these up and coming USL sides.

I have family who are excited for this. The flamingos have definite meaning to Madisonians - the picture below was taken at Bascom Hill on the UW campus in 1979. The guy with the cutoffs and mustache is my little brother, Steve (RIP).

Galaxy lost today to Dallas 2-0. If the Quakes win today, they'll be tied in the standings.

First goal was a pk but the second goal was a screamer. Poor Bingham was helpless.
