Milan's potential new owners have only managed to gather another 20 million so far to buy the club. Berlusconi wanted at least 100 million upfront by Friday. Maybe by 2025 they'll finally have enough to close the deal.
From what I understand, these are non-refundable deposits. Berlusconi may have found a sponsor indirectly.
Purported wiretaps suggest Andrea Agnelli and #Juventus knew ultras "killed people" https://t.co/DA8mKJBgvI pic.twitter.com/AaqYV6BSrS— Football Italia (@footballitalia) March 22, 2017
But if it is not collected, Berlusconi keeps Milan and the 200 million deposited. Thus my statement about indirect sponsorship. If the sale falls through, Berlusconi makes out.
Wiretaps are legal in the US but have to meet 4th Amendment requirements, basically that the search is reasonable and there is probable cause for the search. Probable cause is that a crime was committed and the request for the search is reasonably connected to finding evidence of the crime. No fishing expedition. I do not know what standards other countries have to conduct a search, including wiretaps.
Likely no. Supposedly surveillance was on foreign nationals and US citizens were found in those actions. According to FISA, US citizens are to be masked on such reports. Revelation of those individuals as was the case with Flynn is against the law. We will likely find out that information gathered from the Trump transition team may have been legal but disclosing that it involved those individuals were not. This will be bigger than Watergate.
Moggi does have a point. Roma, ACM, Inter and Napoli need to stop crying about the special treatment Juve get from the refs. They need to live with it or cough up the dough and pay the refs like Juve do.. http://www.forzaroma.info/news-as-r...la-roma-e-le-altre-piangono-per-avere-favori/
I remember Moggi after or during calciopoli was sympathetic to Roma wanting then to be awarded the scudetto instead on Inter. He liked (what was at the time) their younger players. I also think he worked with Roma at one point. I can't remember if it was with Dino Viola or with Franco Sensi though...
Moggi just wanted to spite Inter. I don't think it had anything to do with any affection for Roma. Getting relegated is one thing. But giving up your titles to your biggest rival must have been the real killer for him.
Once the sale goes through, what cash flow will the new owners have to operate the club? It does not look good for Milan.
