Switzerland up 4-0 vs Hungary after only 50 minutes. Not necessarily the best individual quality on this Swiss side, but they look well balanced and organized. Steven Zuber from Hoffenheim bags a brace today.
The Swiss is a one of the most scrappy NT teams I've ever seen. from EC 2004-present they have qualified for every tourney except for the EC12. with their results being either GS exit or R16, who could forget the Swiss were the only team to beat Spain at the WC 10, lol. I dunno why but I enjoy watching teams like them just to see how far their scrappiness will take them,
Iceland to a similar degree have the same resilience to them. Great run they've been on from the 2016 Euros, and now the 2018 WC qualifiers. Seems like a lot of players who are generally average on the club level, suddenly become big game players and step up huge for their country.
Meanwhile, Holland are basically screwed. Stuck in their match tied 1-1 vs Belarus. While Sweden smashed Luxembourg for a +8 in goal advantage earlier today.
France with 2 consecutive unconvincing results and yeah the Ducth will fail to qualify for the 2nd consecutive tourney. And Portugal are still a team mostly dependent on Ronaldo, lol. also how poor was Belgium that they beat Bosnia 4-3?
Belgium looked soft defensively. The way that France are underachieving is pretty puzzling. Deschamps is no where close to getting the best from his player pool that's available to him. Greece, who are coached by Michael Skibbe win 2-1 away at Cyprus to move ahead of Bosnia right now for second place in Group H.
Bundesliga related, Naby Keita got another red card today, it's his 2nd in less than a month. lol. As Guinea lost 4-1 to Tunisia. Agreed Deschamps is not a good coach as long as he's boss. I'll be surprised if France win anything. That does seem to be Belgium's weakness, well every team has some and theirs even with all their attacking talent that they are producing is a lacking defense. Well better for us.
Poland have qualified for their 1st WC since the one in Germany 2006. It's only because of Lewa though he scored like 16/28 of their goals and had a bunch of assists too.
Aubameyang blames 'cursed orange juice' for Gabon's World Cup qualification failure Gabon will yet again miss out on appearing at the FIFA World Cup in 2018 after falling to a 3-0 defeat against Morocco and forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has suggested that the side might have been given some orange juice that had been tampered with. The Borussia Dortmund striker tweeted that his side lost because half of the team were suffering with stomach pains, which he blamed on orange juice. "Half of the team and the staff unbelievable stomach ache on the day of the match [sic]," he tweeted. "What cursed orange juice." http://www.marca.com/en/football/international-football/2017/10/08/59da58ae22601dfd178b45ab.html

Ukraine and Wales both lost on their home pitch, in critical winner take all matches against Croatia and Ireland. Kramaric bagged a brace for Croatia. While Iceland won comfortably over Kosovo to take first place in Group I.

I was expecting them to go through still funny that they conceded that early though. well at least it gives Germany a chance to eliminate Argentina in 4 consecutive WC and be the team that always stopped Messi from the WC glory.
