Draws for the EM Playoffs: Ukraine vs Slovenia, Sweden vs Denmark, Hungary vs Norway, & Bosnia vs Ireland. Good match ups, especially looking forward to Zlatan vs Lord Bendtner.
Hungary, coached by German Bernd Storck, have qualified for the 2016 Euros. Their first major tournament since 1986. The old man in sweatpants, Gabor Kiraly has still got it. Made several big saves today to clinch the playoff series over Norway. More on Storck: http://www.dw.com/en/bernd-storck-t...d-with-reviving-hungarian-football/a-18836615
Should have been their second today. Huge rebound opportunity after Ibra's shot but both Swedes had miss timed it in the box.
Bendtner adding another clip to his blooper reel with a cross like that lol. Eriksen follows suit with an identical play. I don't think the Danes have a comeback in them. Not enough control or cohesion in their attacks so far.
Game over, Ibra with a free kick golazo. Denmark pull 2 back in the closing minutes but all too late. Sweden are through to the Euros. Edit: My oh my, Hojbjerg missing an absolute sitter at the end. Today really hasn't been his game.
Benzema incredibly unlikely to be in the France Euro 2016 squad and Valbuena's spot is in doubt too. This would weaken a favorite considerably.
I know, I just wanted to point out that in case of a national emergency a lot is possible in the state of France. Evra, Ribery, etc
Shevchenko joins Ukraine's NT as an assistant coach for this summer's Euro championships. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/news/newsid=2332690.html
The French National Team was hit badly again. Varane will miss the EC 2016 due to a hamstring injury.
Am I the only one here that doesn't fully understand the hype with them? This team isn't stronger than their 2014 team IMO, one we should have put away much easier than just 1-0, had Schürrle converted a few easy chances. No Benzema. No Varane. No Sakho. No Valbuena(big time player for the NT for whatever reason). Sure they added a bunch of young guys, but most aren't ready to be key contributors on a Euro winning team IMO. Their CB pairing has been their biggest problem and the one guy who should be penned in is now out too. They're at home so that should help, but I just don't buy the hype. I hope I'm not proven wrong of course.
You have a point. But home court has a big advantage (tell that to Brazil). If they had Benzema, Varanem Sakho and Ribery, this would be a strong team.
