I didn't realize Italy lost as i've been quite busy...At least they re asured of a 4th place finish which isn't bad...
I want the usa women to lose. I'm always pro murica, but I don't like this team. Maybe England or France can take them out
That China-South Africa game was the worst crap I've ever seen. China is Chievo East, and South Africa might be as bad as Thailand.
One thing is certain, regardless of the 13-0 blowout, at least as far as the sport in the USA is concerned, the world is talking about American soccer. Women or Men, I think that’s a rarity.
Is it just me or do you guys agree that Sepp Blatter's one good idea, that the women should wear uniforms similar to volleyball kits, would generate more advertising dollars and that would translate to higher wages for those chicks? Football's most senior administrator attracted the wrath of the women's game last night by suggesting female players wear tighter shorts to promote "a more female aesthetic". Sepp Blatter, the president of the world governing body Fifa, said women should have skimpier kit to increase the popularity of the game. "Let the women play in more feminine clothes like they do in volleyball," he said. "They could, for example, have tighter shorts. Female players are pretty, if you excuse me for saying so, and they already have some different rules to men - such as playing with a lighter ball. That decision was taken to create a more female aesthetic, so why not do it in fashion?" FIFA president Sepp Blabber, er, Blatter, proposed last week that women's soccer players wear "tighter shorts," because "more feminine uniforms" might help attract fashion and cosmetic companies as sponsors and probably get a few extra butts in the seats. He may have been a dumb ass in other aspects, but I think he hit the nail on the head with this one. Thoughts?
Do they actually require higher remuneration or is it just an ego play to achieve parity with men's sports? If the latter, skimpy clothing may be out of the question. Regardless, I think it would be a backwards step with the current climate around the sport. But hey, maybe if there were more hot chicks on screen, I may watch the games.
I recall having some interesting discussions mostly here in the Roma forums on how athletes are just becoming bigger, better, faster and stronger altogether. This is an interesting Ted Talk by sports science writer David Epstein puts into perspective our ideas on human evolution vs technology. The talk on PED's is well worth watching the full talk as well.
I think it would only be fair if the FIFA executive committee hold a vote and they pick out the nice ones from each team to wear the skimpy kits. I don't see anyone having a problem with that.
Allora Signore, would the pros generate more interest or cons chase more away? How else can we attract more advertising revenue so these chicks can get paid a bit more? Just a little bit more, not that much more.
The Lingerie Football League didn't fare particularly well. I don't think Rapinoe is bad looking. She's just wayyy butch.
