You know , after the USMNT got eliminated from the World Cup , I kind of have a sinking feeling towards the game. I doubt they would have done much even if they got to the dance , but it's still an honor being nominated. Thinking about it more and more, right now, I can't even get into watching anything related to American or European soccer. Club ball is always more entertaining than national team play but the WC never really was about skills or the way teams play but more like national pride. Maybe when serie A resumes play, I'll start getting into it once again. Let's hope Italy doesn't get eliminated too
Man City look like a friggin' juggernaut . Wow. Kevin De Bruyne is a player too. If I could grab anyone off City and put them on Roma, it might be him. There's a little Totti in him. Aguero , Jesus or Sane would be alright too. lol
I agree with this. I've watched some past Roma matches in the past, and although he does miss some easy chances - he creates a ton of them on his own. That in itself makes him very dangerous. Also as a neutral watching your team, he's the one that was constant threat moreso than any other Roma player. Giroud is the complete opposite of Salah where he heavily relies on others and yet he still misses plenty of easy chances. He's still a decent striker. I've even seen Sanchez miss ridiculously easy chances. Sanchez would score 40 a season in the league alone if he didn't miss some of the chances that he does. Salah is ridiculously good and you guys got robbed hard. We sold them Chamberlain for a similar amount and he's 10x less the footballer Salah is.
The children shall lead them! George Weah's son scores 3! USA-Paraguay, U-17 World Cup round of 16 USA-PARAGUAY EXPRESS Oct. 16 New Delhi, India USA 5 Paraguay 0. Goals: Weah (Akinola) 19, Weah (Vassilev) 53, Carleton (Sargent) 63, Sargent (Carleton) 75, Weah (Carleton) 77. Att.: 34,895.
I had no idea George Weah had an American son. Looks like he's been at PSG's academy for several years now.
If he is half of the player his dad was, the USMNT may have found a pretty good forward.... PSG's Tim Weah nets hat trick in 5-0 US victory at Under-17 World Cup
Big Sam is said to be interested in the US job. I would un-ironically love that. He knows how to get results with piles of crap. Just give him a few pints of wine and we'll be in Qatar no problem.
I think my personal USMNT hell goes something like Bruce Arena chapter 2-Sam Allardyce. Whatever, we suck forever.
Cristiano dusted off his old jet pack to shame three Spurs defenders. He ended up putting a so so shot on frame. Lloris and Navas both had unreal saves too.
On a random note, I really recommend last night's Monday Night Football. Schmeichel was in for Neville, and the show was basically a goal keeper master class. He's surprisingly a great pundit.
Props to Tottenham for a great result. I'm not sure many tipped them to advance out of the group over Dortmund , but they've been great in Europe. Love me some Pochettino.
On the pitch they would have been happy to break each other, they make a good double act. One debate hat stands out was Scholes being the best midfielder, that did make Carra look really slow.
The US soccer continues embarrass itself with the Columbus Crew owner trying to move the city to Austin because of stadium disputes with the city. The government really needs to start protecting cities from this. The NFL does this all the time and it's pretty disgusting. Basically give us tax dollars to build our new stadium or we go elsewhere.
Yeah, the one where he ranked Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard? I dunno, I don't think it's crazy to say/think that Gerrard was the best.
Hmm so far ahead? I'm not sure that's fair. For me, it's between Stevie and Scholes. I never really put Lampard in with those two. He had ridiculous stats, but I'm not sure his influence was as great. If you put Scholes on those Liverpool teams instead of Gerrard, I don't think there's any way he could have dragged them to victories the way Stevie did. And conversely, if you put Gerrard on those United teams, I don't think he would have been able to control the tempo of games the way Scholes did. It's tough. Scholes had more genius and rare gifts, but Stevie was more complete and capable of being a one-man show. I gotta go with Gerrard I think.... actually I don't f'in know. Too tough. Give me Roy Keane over both of them.
That would be awful, especially with Crew being an original team. I read that the owner wants a stadium by 2019. Seems lofty. NFL thinks it can afford to crap on fans, which will eventually bite them (maybe it has already started to). MLS can certainly not turn its back on the fans who've stuck with them.
Gerard had his big moments in his prime but the brain Scholes had for the game was something else. We seen that when Gerard's legs were done. Gerard is a casuals favorite player, they'll know him for his big goals. Scholes was a genius level player, Englands best in the past 20-30 years and they didn't know how to use him.
