The problem is that Faultanelli has failed miserably so far in his most important job functions--choosing a coach and assembling the roster. The DP's are not DP level players. Add to that his propaganda about patience and unrealistic supporter expectations which he bases on the pretense that he's smarter than the system and the league. Just give it more time for his genius to transcend the sport. Ingredients for continued failure.

He is little better at his job than Doyle was, just with much better political and kool-aid dispensing skills.

I agree that we are stuck with him long term, probably Blank Stahre for at least the season.

It is super discouraging to watch what could be a good MLS market deteriorate into one of the worst. Ugh.

    Go Quakes!!!

"Faultanelli". That's good. Managed to tie into earthquakes as well.

Thanks. I wasn't thinking about seismicity, however; just trying to avoid threats of lawsuits for expressing myself.

Not gonna happen anytime soon, but:

Schelotto: One day I’d like to manage in MLS

"When I played here, everyone played the same. Four defenders, four midfielder and two forwards. At the end, when I left after four years, you started seeing some changes," he said. "Now a lot is changing. You see Toronto playing with three at the back, Kansas City with three forwards, things you didn’t see, different teams using different tactics. That also helps players evolve and teams change."

Those changes, led by a combination of American manager like Greg Vanney, Peter Vermes and Bob Bradley and foreign coaches like Patrick Vieira and Barros Schelotto's countryman Tata Martino, have drawn his eye and while he's pleased to be coaching Boca for the immediate future could lead to him taking a role in MLS down the line.

"Yes, without doubt one day I’d like to manage (here)," he said. "I don’t know when and things in Boca are going really well, I’m really happy and it’s a big challenge, but obviously one day in the future I’d like to manage in MLS."

There are assistants in MLS right now who we could snag. (FCKD, DynamoeHumms, RedCows, Crewless) It's pathetic that we're deep into this mess and there appears to be no chance that Fioranelli will fire Stahre.

We're horrible. We play ugly, losing soccer. The coach appears to be clueless. We're dreadful.

    I'm so depressed.

And I have this terrible pain in all the diodes on my left side.

    GO Quakes!!
    Fire Stahre!!

Yeah - I seem to recall you had a cousin or something who played for him at SLO - and you were left with the impression that he (Holocher) wasn't dealing from a full deck. Is that accurate?

Well that is semi accurate. Holocher wasn't playing with a full deck since his days at SCU, the Blackhawks and the Clash.

Not sure how true it is but I heard when he was with the Clash that he stood up in front of a room of players and actually started crying. He cried a lot when he was a coach too.:eek::eek:

Quakes with a terrible start to the season, Zidane abruptly quits as Madrid manager. There must be a connection.

He's going back to find some peace of mind in San Jose.

I'm just hoping that this example of resigning when you know it's your fault that your team sucks might rub off on Mikael. I'm sure he's noticed the ZZ has resigned. Maybe it will be encouraging to Mika.

    Go Quakes!!

I know why he was fired from the New England Revs but what does everyone think of Steve Nicol with Paul Mariner as his assistant? Just curious....

No. See Sigi and Dominic as examples of retreads that cannot improve your team

    What Jeff said, NO.

How about Marc Dos Santos? Zero to cup in one season? That guy knows what he's doing. With a bigger budget and at least a few good players. I bet he could work wonders with our team.

I might look for a coach in smaller Euro countries (Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Slovakia, aso.) or in Central or South America (my first choice for foreign coaches). We could snag an assistant from another MLS club.

I still think that Zoran Savic would be a good match for us.

    Bradley Carnell might be good.

Any of Pat Onstad, Josh Wolff, or Nico Estevez at Cowlumbus might be good. (Pat has been an assistant coach elsewhere long enough to have washed the Quakes off of him.)

An assistant from FCKD or Houscum might be a good choice too. (Not Wade.)

I'm sure many of you can come up with a lot of good candidates. My point is that we should start interviewing these guys.

Hell, I'd be happy to give the reins to Danger and Danielle. They both have more brain power than Stahre, even when they are asleep.

    Go Quakes!!
