We can’t be using that same excuse over and over again. We’ve had some Sub par tournaments including 2018.
Playoff finals for next years Euro all set. The winner of the “A” path game joins our group along with France and Germany Playoff Finals (November 12) A: Hungary vs. Iceland B: Slovakia vs. Northern Ireland C: Serbia vs. Scotland D: Georgia vs. Macedonia
i mean its either going too be hungry or iceland Sure were better than either. But you still have too play the game
Anybody can beat anybody . Thats a fact Like france can lose in croatia on Wednesday, nothing is a given
This isn’t true. The game was much like the other two group matches in which Portugal dominated in possession, shot attempts, shots on target and chances created but the bounces just didn’t go our way. In fact, Portugal had more shot attempts and shots on target in the group stages than any other tram at the tournament. The Hungary game in particular sees a much different result if they don’t score two of the most heavily deflected goals one could imagine. It’s amazing that the narrative became Portugal being lucky when in fact they had terrible luck all throughout the group stage. Not to mention the fact the greatest player in Portuguese history was nullified through injury after 8 minutes of a final at the home of their opponents on the day. Really don’t see much luck in those scenarios at all.
In order to get a lead putting good shots on goals in various stretches of the game made them look better. I did not say the majority of the game. I did not say anything about luck either. Just that in some stretches they looked to me like they could win that game and possibly knock you out. And the point is you did not win and that can happen again.
any team is never going too dominate a game 100% I like too win playing good soccer. At the end of the day a win is a win is win
Not to be logical, but what does that have to do with anything? Lakers outplaying the heat is just about as relevant. Also, what happen in the 2 games with hungry after 2016? 2 straight forward victories for Portugal. I wonder if the Dutch are worried about Austria because of a loss in 1990.
Just going into the tournament nobody thought Hungary would score three goals and get the point. They may not be easy again this cycle either.
Personally I don't take any team for granted that makes the Euro. The only thing we can do is assume the teams will play to their potential or go by current form. Either way, Portugal should be defeating either Hungry or Iceland, even in Budapest. And if they don't, well it's not exactly shocking, just surprising.
Spain 6-0 Germany Germany is going to wake up, fire Low and get Hummels/Boetang back onto the national team, start Goretzka-Kimmich-Kroos-Havertz in midfield, and be a beast at the Euro's because of this result aren't they ? Knowing our luck...
Did not know to laugh or scream at the cheating cvnt "I don't even want to laugh at that because that's pathetic!"Alan Shearer was not impressed by Ciro Immobile's theatrics 🤣#bbcfootball #ITA #euro2020 https://t.co/kQP1uE88l7— Match of the Day (@BBCMOTD) July 2, 2021
I shit you not, late in the match when Italians were staying down from minimal contact two at a time, the color commentator for the BBC broadcast said something like, "Italy really know how to get to the finish line and see a match out. They know how to win." And it was said in earnest. When Portugal (or any country whose national team hasn't won as much as Italy; imagine if Ukraine leads late tonight and...) does it to 1/10th the extent, the response is "Portugal not winning any new fans tonight with its play-acting...just hoping to hold on. Oh, another Portuguese down on the floor now." Also, within seconds of Lukaku's late chance being blocked I saw a serious tweet from a pretty good football account I follow calling it "heroic" from Spinnazola. He literally just let a ball hit his ass from a couple yards away... FFS, heroic?! Media should be embarrassed by the way they lionize the Azzurri any time they win and treat their bullshittery as noble.
