Their agreement with the Stadium owners is the turf is replaced every 4 years. However I’ve heard folks saying that after the first year the turf turns to garbage. Atlanta is fortunate that their turf as held up so far but it might be just a matter of time. Props to Atlanta for not playing with football lines on the field yet. That being said, regardless if Atlanta conveniently calls their stadium a “duel purpose” complex. The sight lines suck. When the ball goes to the lower part of the field, by the flags, the wide camera can’t pick up the action and they have to cut to another angle. I’ve heard it’s just as bad live. Word is, usually you can see one corner but not both, depending on where you’re sitting. From everything thing I’ve gathered, every SSS in the league, like Stubhub, has no bad seat in their house. Btw, Seattle is also getting a new team in the XFL, in 2020, and they’re playing at CenturyLink too. It should be said, that if LA gets a team, then the likely location is StubHub.
I don't understand your post. Given that the size of the pitch is supposed to be more or less equal across all stadiums, why would a larger stadium make it harder to have a quality field? If your saying that larger stadiums are more likely to be shared and have astroturf fields as a result, then I agree.
Vince McMahon's second foray into professional gridiron. Apparently he's going to make a straightforward league with no "sports entertainment " influences this time. Honestly, I think he'll be hard pressed to escape the taint of the original XFL.
Someday soccer in this country will be popular enough to spawn an XLS. And eventually? Lingerie League Soccer.
Plus there’s absolutely going to be NO KNEELING tolerated! Mcmahon has vowed to keep those boys in line. ::said with a cheeky smile::
So XFL is planning to run its regular season for 10 weeks, starting February. Does this mean we'll be starting our 2020 MLS season with football lines and a giant picture of the Gobbledygooker emblazoned on the pitch?
70k fans. Good look for MLS. Hopefully it stays competitive and ATL doesn’t run away with it in first half.
Are we here for this one? I’ve just had surgery yesterday, but I’m proppd up at home and ready to go!
I’ve been away from soccer news, and forgot about Nagbe’s history with both teams, and also Parkhursts’ history of losing MLS Cup (to the Galaxy). Good stories.
Thank you, I’m young for it (I like to think) but had a good fix-it surgery, total hip replacement. All so far going textbook well. Feeling privileged and can’t wait to get back to hiking.
I checked out the reddit thread for this game. Not hostile like BS USMNT team threads but about 1000 posts per minute. Can’t scroll fast enough to keep up. https://www.reddit.com/r/MLS/commen...nited_fc_vs_portland/?st=JPG7VG67&sh=e6e28c65 Anything you post is immediately buried so don’t see the point.
I think the turf makes it more chaotic. Ball ping-ponging around on the slick surface. And now we have a goal!
0-0 if Portland’s right back pushes up in line with his teammates like he is supposed to do (leaving Martinez offside). See https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dt8Ip1JXgAAZ-Rc.jpg
I wasn’t sure Parkhurst’s challenge was fair on the goal, but replays seem to show he got there first. Martinez’ finish reminded me of so many Donovan ones.
