According to this article LAFC are the third most valuable club in the Americas and most valuable club in MLS which is suspect, but if you squint hard enough at the numbers you could maybe make that case. So why isn’t this in the LAFC thread? Because LAFC’s optimistic rating is nothing compared to the team that came in 4th overall and second in MLS. In 4th place. The Sounders? Nope. Atlanta? Nope. LA, Toronto, Red Bull, NYCFC, Orlando, SKC? Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope and nope. The 4th most valuable club in all of South, Central and North America is the New England Revolution. The no stadium, wrong side of median attendance, minimal brand value, disinterested and unambitious owners, zero marketable stars New England Revolution. Forbes US has been garbage since they decided to slap the Forbes logo on a WordPress site and let any jackhole with an internet connection contribute. Forbes Mexico is somehow even worse.

You made me go look for the replay - great, great hustle and fabulous skill from Wayne Rooney. Beckham-esque!
Does Acosta intentionally tripping an Orlando player at the start of their fast break diminish it? Genuinely asking. I'm not sure myself.
Shhh! Like Zlatan's second goal against LAFC being offside, this factoid will be rightly obscured in favour of the narrative.
I guess it depends. If the argument is the trip happened and was a foul, then no I don’t think it diminishes the play. Since the referee has the option of allowing play to continue if there is an advantage and there was a definitive advantage I suspect if he opted to award Orlando a free kick in that scenario the team/fans/coaches would have lost their mind at taking away the opportunity of an open net on a fast break. If the argument is the trip doesn’t happen at all then the Orlando player might have made a forward pass a stride or two earlier and the game ends 3-2 for Orland. I think that’s a stronger argument, but I still fall on the side of no. Too many what-ifs in that scenario for me on the back of a kind of foul that happens all the time. I might feel differently if I were an Orlando fan, but as a neutral/slight bias against DC, I loved the drama of it.
Did anyone else think the red card against Reto Ziegler was terrible? Frankly, I don't know if this is another example of VAR being unreliable or an example of corruption where referee calls on the field are not properly reviewed by the VAR team.
Crest is nice, really nice. Name might be more ridiculous than Real Salt Lake. I guess progress is ripping off South/Central American sounding names over European ones. Looking forward to 20 years from now when the new San Diego franchise comes full circle and adopts a goofy American name (Sockers?)
I know I shouldn't be rejoicing, and I truly am torn - but gosh, I am EXCITED to be getting an MLS team virtually in my backyard. McKalla stadium/The Domain is a less-than-10-minute drive for me. I feel horrible about the Crew and I desparately wish we could have gotten our own new MLS team, but... So now Galaxy is #1 and Austin "Whoever" will be my No.1a/2 team!
And for the first year or two, before the stadium is built, there is a very real possibility they'll be playing here in Round Rock at Dell Diamond, literally just down the street from me less than a mile. Sorry to bother you guys with this but -- I am freaking out! To finally have a local team I can support. And the press and everybody down here really are going nuts about it.
I so hope it's an expansion team, otherwise you will have stolen another fan's team. There is no way MLS should be moving an MLS original out of Columbus. Garber sucks and Precourt is a greedy S.O.B. - hopefully for you he becomes a better owner then what he was to C-Bus. So ironic that the team symbol is a tree with roots. If they can move one MLS team in this manner, then they can move anyone - so much for 'community', apparently that only goes as far as as the money. #savethecrew
It was, I also enjoyed watching Almiron's blistering pace and the ease with which he steals the ball away from the other team.
