Just let every CL have 32 participants (only champions!!) and give them the same format (with pools etc) like UEFA Champions League. That way every country can play in a intercontinental league with high-quality clubs and so get people more interested in the sport and the local players get much better because they play against better teams.
wishfull thinking as MLS teams would get rolledover by UEFA and CONMEBOL teams to the point that it would loss more interest in America as America has this thing where they are not interested in it if America sucks at it(atleast the media which covers the games that it)
Only champions, so there'll only be about half a dozen decent teams actually in it? I really don't want to watch Club America instead of Real Madrid, LA Galaxy instead of Inter, or Sydney FC instead of Man United.
