Firstly, sorry for posting in this thread. The one about the forthcoming friendlies is now closed, and I am unable to start a thread myself.

Re: The friendly v Hungary at the Amsterdam Arena.

Will this game be a complete sellout? I'm thinking of going to this game as I will be in the Netherlands that weekend.

Will I be able to turn up at the Amsterdam Arena and buy a ticket a couple of hours before kick off, or would I be best buying one online?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Kev

I highly doubt it. Not all Dutch friendlies are sell-outs.

Also I will post the final Oranje selection tomorrow

I was just wondering whether suspension from these friendly matches carry forward into the World Cup..
I saw England vs Mexico last night and although the Mexicans lost, they outplayed England for most part.Mexico looks very good on counter attacks and they counter through the middle rathar than the flanks .. And knowing De Jong he will always stick his leg out meaning a red card or something..

Generally: no. The only time it is is when it's so cold that this event can be held but that's about once every 20 years or so.

    Not even close
Most Latin American countries play through the middle and not the flanks.

Thats why if we meet Uruguay or some LA country in knockout rounds vMarwijk has to make sure he fields 2 DM's in the middle of the pitch

Has anyone told the Mexicans that the idea of a pre-world cup friendly is not to butcher anyone.

    I keep forgetting about Afellay

and de Jong scares me, we need someone like him but he's a red card waiting to happen . . .

I thought Van der Wiel was a shoe in at right back? I didn't even think Boula was a starter at Stuttgart.

Or is this the period to test out other players I guess?

Mexico will play mostly reserves to rest those who played against England.

It may seem a bit ironic but De Jong hasn't received a red card in 2 years..
(Yeah I know he plays the Epl, but still..)

    I predict a 2-1 win for us..

Opposition check: Cameroon drew Georgia 0-0..

Well good as we're going to play mostly those players who are at risk of getting dropped from the squad (sort of a final chance game for them).

This is a friendly mostly for the coaches I guess. Gives them a chance to decide on who makes the final cut.

It is. They're going to test Braafheid, Bouhla, Ooijer, Babel, that type of players - all those who are risk of being axed.

That's fair enough I guess. Does it have to be someone with a fair bit of meat on their bones or can it be one of our midgets? I'm thinking Sneijder as he's irritating the crap out of me.

    As was I!

I think we know at both ends that it's going to be a crap and meaningless game.
