I think it´s time for an Open Debate.

Pick a Soccer subject and debate about it.

Start off with as many posters that want to participate.

Narrow them down, with a pool of judges (7 judges seems ok), and finally pick 2 players (mods can debate too).

3 judges, two debators, a minimum amount of responses, a maximum amount of time to respond. All of Big Soccer as witnesses.

The winner gets a Big Soccer shop prize and bragging rights.

Your thoughts about the Idea, and anything that will make it better and fairer.

    Your thoughts.

I think your idea is a great one, and I think that a list of topics should be put forth, then organize everyone that wants to be a part of it into groups for a group play type of event. Then move into a 1 v 1 debate.

I think judges should be decided first. You should try and get reasonable fair minded people to be judges and set criteria for what would consitute a winning response.

I think a list of rules and guidelines for participation should be drawn up.

I whole heartedly endorse Wonka in all his debating idea glory.

Although I doubt he is the first as he so brazenly declares. :D

    An excellent question !
BigSoccer is big and global and diverse. The only thing that is common amongst the membership is the love (or hate  ) of soccer.
Forget politics, religion, sex-identity, age-related, and just about everything else but soccer.
Other than that I'm not a nay sayer.

Subject one should be the spots awarded in the Finals per region. What region should get more and who should get less.

Topic 2, use of naturalized players.
    Should they be allowed?
What changes to the current rules should be reviewed?

I don´t think regions should be involved Crow.

Individual Bull Shit, is none of my concern.

I BELIEVE, the "human" subject is more important.

    Interesting idea, Wonka.

Where do you want this debating done?
    Out on Highway 61.
[apologies to Bob Dylan. ;) ]

But if you don't include all regions, how can FIFA market it as the world's game and, more importantly, sell TV rights.

I'm a bit confused as to why this is in the customer service forum.

As far as the debating rules are concerned, I'm not really sure what to say. Never took debate when I was getting my learn on.

I suppose you just pose a question and begin to debate it. We need to have the judges lined up before it begins obviously. After that, we have to decide who debates. Is it open to anyone? Unlimited? or do we have a predetermined number that participates who have to register?

You already stated some other rules earlier like the fact that this isn't WR so it should obviously remain civil.

I believe, we are all more civil about the whole IDEA.

Come up with any Idea you like. This thread is more for that, than something established.

I WANT you to THRASH it ALL

    THINK about it...

    KILL IT ALL.

    I´m Proposing Politics.

    Let´s view the Candidates

    Try to digest them all

    And VOTE.

    NO¿?

Hmmmm... Politics. I like. It could possibly get ugly though.

So how are we going to pick the judges? Do we have votes on it?
