I'm not knocking Nathan as a person. I am knocking the store. The quality of choices have gone down hill. I know that is mostly MLS but the store is the symbol of that. Frankly most of the staff have had attitudes with me of late. As if I am bothering them by being willing to spend my money. I already brought up the signage issue. Many policies, again possibly via MLS, have gone downhill. I used to be able to bring in any jersey I wanted to and get name and numbers put on them. Then three or four years ago, policy changed prohibiting that. So as with my general game day experience my DC United team store experience has become more than I can stand.
As I watched Christos on the pitch the other night I was thinking "regardless of outcome, these are the guys I would like to have coaching my kid."
Just hope to watch the stream Ready for some more US Open Cup. Hope we go far for more games to watch and win it just to be happy about something this year
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-face-new-england-revolution-in-u-s-open-cup/ Vincent and Franklin traveled, Brown is cup-tied. My prediction: Worra Odoi-Atsem Franklin Robinson Korb Vincent Marcelo Buescher Neagle Ortiz Le Toux
I wouldn't start Vincent coming off his injury unless the plan is to slide Harkes in for him at halftime. Would love to see Sam or Nyarko, but I would be surprised to see them start. Subs bench Durkin, Klenofsky, Franklin/Opare, Sam, Nyarko, Vincent/Harkes. Honestly, why not get Durkin in ahead of Vincent? I heard the guys on the Total Soccer Show talking up Durkin's recently play at Richmond. These are guys that regularly watch Kickers games and are pretty good scouts of younger players. They had LOTS of good things to say.
Durkin didn't impress me against Christos, although I had been very impressed with his play in preseason, based on video clips. Still, this is the kind of match he should play in.
You know that you're a hopeless dead ender when you spend your Wednesday night watching Jose Ortiz and Paul Mariner on a laptop screen. Can't get much lower than that.
I wonder why Durkin is not on the bench. Does anyone know if he is with the Kickers, in Richmond? I hope he's not injured.
First half -- good work by Buescher. I think Mariner has a man-crush on him. Nice gift by Franklin through the clumsy challenge. Props to Fagundez on the free kick, that was class an no keeper can get to that. Given Mariner's gushing about Buescher and Ortiz, if I wasn an MLS owner, I never, ever would let that guy be my GM. But then again, he was Nicol's assistant for years. With those glasses he wore, I always thought of him as the fourth Hansen brother.
We will never know, there was some Revs promo broadcast -- the game restarted after the NE goal. You look at the subs bench, Heaps has put in Kamara and Nguyen. Olsen has Marcelo and .....
