I was just wandering around the internet when I came across an offer from the Onion Bag for a US National Team jersey, complete with customized name and number for $70. This seems too good to be true. Has anyone ever ordered a jersey from them before? Will I order the jersey and have the numbers and letters peel off soon after it arrives? I don't want to get a blank one b/c then I would have that annoying break in the line pattern on the front. What should I do? Here's the ****************'s link. http://procart2.evocative.com/****************/item.jsp?item=01USAASS0607&category=95
Probably because it is a competitor of this site, to an extent. Regardless, I have ordered a jersey from them as have several of us but it has not yet been delivered (probably early April). I'll be happy to let you know about the quality when I get the jersey.
IIRC, they had a falling out with the administrators of this site, who have since opened their own store. However... Awful lot of us are jumping on that deal--I myself have ordered three (two for myself and one for my husband). They're good guys. This is my first time ordering directly from them, but I've sent stuff I bought elsewhere down for the name/numbering, including my 2004 national team shirt. No problems at all with the names/numbers coming off. Just wash your jersey on the gentle cycle and turn it inside out before pitching it into the machine and you'll be fine.
I have to agree with Ultra Peanut: I've ordered from them before and have been quite impressed with their efforts... I'll probably be ordering another jersey from them soon. The Magpie
Nothing like a good grudge! ********OB********* rates high in my book, they will talk soccer with you then take your order as well. Sounds allot like the old World Soccer Shop in Boston that was always fun to visit and talk with those guys (long since departed).
That was a good place. Neil & Tony (the two owners) were great guys, and it was always a blast just to walk in, browse, and talk soccer. One could thumb through a copy of When Saturday Comes or Pictures of Chairman Mao, check out the Forfar Athletic jersey on the wall, and watch old videos on a TV in the corner. Good times.
Thanks guys. I just ordered a #20 McBride Away jersey from them. I am making sure to get one early this time. I remember how hard it was to track one down right after World Cup 2002.
I got the home jerset last world cup, so I thought I'd switch it up. I would get a Kasey Keller shirt, my favorite player, but I don't really want to wear a goalie top.
Hmm... order from USSoccer or BigSoccerShop and pay $84 for shipping to Spain... or order from Onion Bag and pay $20 shipping... Decisions, decisions....
I want a Gooch jersey but money's real tight for me right now....depends on how I do at poker this weekend
I ordered a Gooch away top from them I must say that I get most of my stuff from the "bag" and their the best
it's all about the Gooch. interesting that most seem to be opting for the "away" - i like the design of the white so much better thanks to all for your comments on the O-Bag
I have an away Convey and a home Dempsey on the way from The Onion Bag folks. Now if only Clint could stop slugging teammates (what is it with our boys named Clint anyhow?????)
How cool.......that's EXACTLY what I'm getting. Already have the Dempsey pre-ordered (through US Soccer). Thanks for the tips here guys, I'm now ordering my Convey "away" jersey through OB.
Gonna be seeing an awful lot of Onyewus and Dempseys this summer. (That was my order, btw, plus a Twellman for the luchador).
I have ordered: * "Gooch" home jersey * White training jersey * Red training jersey ... might also order home versions for Lewis and Cherundolo as well. The Magpie
I didn't see the new training jerseys at the OB site, the USSF site (they've got the white and blue older ones), or the Eurosport site. Who has the new training jerseys for sale? Thanks.
