Fair enough but at this level it appears to be an embarrassment of riches. we all know shit can change but for now...
Truly an amazing picture, and that U20 team did some incredible things. Heck, even Wallace looked like a potential star at times playing up a cycle with the '07 group.

I can't imagine why some want our kids to go to England. Germany, Italy, Portugal and even Spain all seem more welcoming.
More money, a common language, more money, wanting to play in the league they watched at home and more money all sound like good reasons to me. Portugal, France, Spain. Belgium and the Netherlands all lose players to the English academies, because money, despite it being the hardest place to break into senior football.
Very rarely do you see anyone on the YA board clamoring for a prospect/young professional to go to England. People almost always desire/suggest young Americans go to the continent.
Very true - but I appreciate that it can be a hard thing to go live in a country where you don't speak the language. Even if everyone mostly speaks English and half the shows on TV are in English, it's still a very tough transition.
Money is extremely important, doesn't mean that it is a great reason to forgo a better environment to develop as a professional at a young age. If you choose to prioritize your development first, and you have talent, the money will come later when you sign your next deal after breaking through to the first team.
I think there is a lot to said about that - playing in the league they watched at home. And money. I guess my statement was half rhetorical. I'd just like to see how kids like like Lennon, DLT, etc would be measuring up on the continent. Of course I was wasn't referring to the distinguished company on this vaunted board. You know - people. Not us!
And as important, it's all about which Euro club discovers the player. Some kids have a few options, some just have one club that wants to sign them.
This thread needs a bump. Gaines played 90' today in the U19's 1-1 draw with Hamburger. http://int.soccerway.com/matches/20...a/vfl-wolfsburg-u19/hamburger-sv-u19/2304232/
There's a possibility he'll be coming to Florida in January: WOLFSBURG CANCELS JANUARY FLORIDA FIRST TEAM VISIT The Bundesliga club was scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium on January 8 before facing Bahia in Orlando on January 12. The club will instead send a youth squad to play the Rowdies and Bahia. The Florida Cup runs from January 8-21 in Orlando, St Petersburg and Fort Lauderdale. https://thefloridasqueeze.com/2016/12/21/wolfsburg-cancels-january-florida-first-team-visit/
http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club...-gaines-making-his-mark-at-wolfsburg_aid41252 He'll probably be with the youth at the tournament in Florida but nice to see him get a positive review from his coach. I imagine more and more Bundesliga clubs will scout and recruit from America especially if others follow Pulisic and breakthrough.
Gaines has cooled off a bit after his hot start. First seven U19 games: 5g, 4a Second seven U19 games: 0g, 2a
