Hockey, beachvolleybal. Beachvolleybal was one of two seeded teams left in the competition.

That's true ... there's hardly any interest in field hockey ... but as everybody knows ... the Olympics are really all about the equestrian events ... obviously you want to shine in the fencing events as well ... and maybe golf (if they keep the plebs at a distance).

All four of the women's volleyball teams in the semis came from the same pool. Dutch get a rematch with China who beat Brazil late last night while US play Serbia again who are looking pretty strong.

I think it will be difficult to beat Great Britain. Somehow they have found a formula to train 10 hours a day in the gym (literally!). That is extraordinary.

Dutch women crash out of the 400M relay as Schippers for some reason doesn't start running soon enough on the second leg and they finish in sixth place. they were the Euro champions.

No way man!! All these athletes get tested.

    /s

    --------------------------------------------------------------

US swimmers might be in big trouble. First they allegedly vandalized a gas station while drunk, but then they lied about it and made up some bullshit story about getting robbed.

Could be looking at jailtime for both offenses

Ketones aren't doping. It costs apparantly 10k per bottle but that is a different story. It will enter the marketplace after the Olympics.

If you have to believe the Wada data the likes of Australia or Jamaica are more suspicious. Jamaica is one of the few countries in the world to block foreign testers.

ROFL, it's like when the decathletes were using DMSO to treat muscle injuries back in the 1960s.

Yes, the effects are contested I understood. Oxford will publish the results with a claimed effect of 3%. For "tactical reasons" they delayed the publishing as they say in above article.

Whatever. Some tinfoil hats think it is a dummy and decoy. Who knows.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
    Please stop posting about PED's.

First of all, if you think British athletes (or any other athletes) are on ketones alone you are in the dark.
Second of all, Jamaica does NOT block foreign testers. Where did you get that idea??

Please don't be so agressive. I didn't bring this up (I don't think they are breaking rules, they are just advanced and clever).

I merely point out that the opponent is 10 hours a day in the gym. This was also mentioned by the Dutch coach and a player per my newspaper. So it will not be easy.

Okay, but whats your evidence Jamaicans are dodging the doping checks??
They still have to go through the same channels as every other country.

Only thing I heard was they tend to spend more time training in other countries, so they can be a day or 2 late showing up for their pee-test.

But trust me, when you're taking drugs like Nandrolone it wont matter a bit if you delay your pee for a couple of days.
You will test positive (unless you're taking massive amounts of beta-blockers)

Don't you mean diuretics? How would a beta blocker camouflage steroid use?

Maybe I heard the drug name wrong, but I couldnt sworn there are drugs which athletes can take that mask their testosterone output. They were called "Something-blockers"

OK, as of now it is a bit more nuanced than that. Foreign testers aren't categorically blocked but delayed entry. Then they search for days for the athletes.

    It is really no secret.

The list with popped jamaicans in the sprint is impressive. Look at the fastest ever times... (with exception of Bolt) I'd say Jamaica scores 9/10 in being suspicious and GB 3/10 or so.

I'll see if I can find out. Beta-blockers lower blood pressure and calm the nerves. Until they were outlawed, shooters and archers used them a lot.

Yeah, but even Jamaicans can only delay their pee-test for AT THE MOST A DAY OR TWO, which will make ZERO difference when it comes to Olympic testing

No. The testers are delayed a couple of days when they want to enter the country and then have to search when inside. Jamaica has really no good track record. Look at the fastest ever male athletes for proof. Especially compared to Team GB.
