Well I'm on the channel right now and Sweden and South Africa are playing loud and clear! I might luck out with this channel! ::knocks on wood::

As we look forward to the game in Manaus, there's this to keep in mind: Nigeria's men's soccer team is going to land in Manaus a couple hours before gametime tomorrow (if they're lucky). https://t.co/TqQNK33wND— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) August 3, 2016
So, I'm guessing that the U.S. is wearing its white against the French blue on Saturday. Has anyone any idea of what kit the U.S. has in reserve for this tournament? The only one revealed to the public thus far has been the white with the platinum sleeves.
Pretty sure the alternate kit is the regular black one (one sleeve blue, one red)...the only difference is no crest, but just USA.
Very cool: All 42,000 seats for the women's soccer doubleheader in Manaus on Tuesday (USA-COL, BRA-RSA) are sold out.— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) August 6, 2016
Regardless of Colombia being correct, as someone born in Columbia, Im probably going to screw it up just out of habit.
Interesting how the three three-time Olympians on the squad have arguably been the three most important players in the team's run so far. Lloyd with two [game-winning] goals, Heath with the assist on each of those goals, and Solo with a pile of saves.
I just read an article on the moms on Team USA, which made me realize that there are no moms on this USWNT...for the first time in a major tournament since the 1991 WWC! I wonder if the players miss having some kids around or not. I guess they do have Pugh there though.
That will probably be true everywhere in this tournament for the US, but 40,000+ is much better than ~10,000 in the previous 2 games.
Zikas Aussie US China Germany France Sweden Canada Let me be the first to predict the Knockout Round way to early.
It's definitely a first as long as I've been watching seeing USWNT actually being taunted. Then again, they usually play the majority of their games in the US and hardly ever play in latin America.
It has occurred to me that Wednesday's match was the first one they played outside North America since March 2015.
I've heard it, but I don't recall the last time they've said that. The men's team is sometimes called Los Cafeteros which is of course where "The Coffeemakers" derives from and is a common nickname for the team.
Women's sports is interesting in this way. We've seen national team players complain when an opposing national team player is heckled or booed when playing for their club team. I don't know how to not consider this bizarre in professional sports. The last time the US played significant games in Latin America, I remember apathy more than any sort of vocal opposition. Even in Brazil, the crowd isn't against the US. They are against the person who they feel disrespected the host. These teams rarely see hostile crowds. They may be more hostile due to people actually being in the stands (Germany and another top nation I can't remember right now have been booed), but to anyone who watches men's sports, it's nothing.
