Why Skinny Slims? Isn't that an OKC NASL hangout? Shouldn't he have appeared at 51st Street Speakeasy? What could this mean?
Awesome. He was really impressed with the donated scarves & flags from fans. He got really excited when he saw the 2 Norwich City scarves & went on to tell a story about playing with them & their development team for 3 years.
Skinny Slims is like Switzerland. It's neutral. That's why, right next to the nRg flag, is a NASL flag. The owner is a HUGE ManU fan and a member of The Red Dirt Brigade, but on Saturdays there are Gooners, and Liverpool supporters, and Chelsea fans there. He said he will support pro soccer inOKC, no matter who's doing it.
https://twitter.com/uslpro/status/424257591598800897 Whoa. All USL games will be broadcast live online. That's kind of a big deal right?
Lol, I was literally just writing a post about this. Here it is on their website http://uslpro.uslsoccer.com/home/780995.html Will be awesome to watch when I can't make to the game because of work or watching away games.
The stream last year, from what I can gather, was pretty sketchy. Hopefully it will be better on YouTube. And free beats five bucks a month the NASL is charging.
True, depending on the team some of the streams were pretty poor, youtube may be better. Free is nice but doesn't necessarily beat paid if the quality isn't there. With NASL charging $5 a month for its new NASL Matchcenter you'd expect the quality to be pretty good and I don't mind paying if it is improved at least for a couple of the teams that had lower quality streams last season. I've heard rumours the league is moving towards all teams having HD streams like Minnesota United had last year and that would be great though may not happen for 2014 for all teams. We'll see.
Yep. You get what you pay for. I watched a few "free" NASL games on UStream last year. Pretty poor quality
"You'd expect" being the key words. I have hope that the money would go to good use, but not holding my breath. But if it's worth it, I'd certainly pay it. I have hopes that the partnership with YouTube will pay dividends. I've watched some live events on YouTube and it has always seemed to go well. Anything that gets the club/state/sport visibility I'm all for.
