I love possession based soccer as much as the next guy but I really hate the forced tactic of playing out of the back no matter what.
The only thing more annoying than us signing Amarikwa, is the fact that he brought that terrible man bun with him.
I’m looking more at the terrible touch by academy player griffin yow followed by an equally terrible back pass by Donovan Pines
D.C. United vs Real Betis friendly is tentatively set for May 22 at Audi Field, three days after La Liga finishes. Betis advancing to Europa League final would cause disruption. #dcu #mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) February 21, 2019 Unlikely.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) February 22, 2019
Seems foolish to schedule two in season friendlies for a team that is supposedly in MLS cup or bust mode with a coach who doesn't believe in proper squad rotation. This season has a lot of promise but the FO will find a way to screw this up.
No. The income from the STH is already guaranteed whether or not there is a friendly. This just adds additional expenses to the club.
Yep, STM's paid for 20 games. We just have to figure out if the time/inconvenience to get to AF on a week night plus the cost of parking is worth it. Last year's hybrid DCU scrubs-Richmond Kickers vs Olimpia wasn't worth it to me. Charging full price for that was robbery. I doubt the USMNT game will be included, since they can actually make money off that. Maybe we'll get a USOC game if the Loudoun field isn't completed. asitis
I am as down the the club and their tactics as anyone, but you can trade those in for FAM, because there is no way you're getting your money back on a midweek game thats a shit matchup, which can be used on food & beverage in the stadium and select items in the team shop, so its not actually as bad as it looks. I don't know what you spend on seats or how apt you are to eat/drink in the stadium, but for us with 4 midfield preferred seats it was really not as horrible of a deal as it looked on paper.
I disagree. We paid for 20 matches. Do you think they'll refund the cost of 3 additional matches or include playoff games, another money maker? The friendlies are a part of the package. asitis
Last year you couldn't use the FAM to buy concessions. I'm sure my FAM for that game is still floating around in the ether and not in Levien's pocket. My seats are at midfield in 106. I don't know if they're preferred or not, but the view isn't as good as I hoped. I know what it's like to bring kids to a match. We had two in tow back in the beginning. I got out of the habit of eating at the stadium as the food service at RFK got worse. Now I just stay in my seat, even through halftime. If I arrive early enough, I may get something before the game. It's a 3+ hour trip to get to AF. I come for the matches. asitis
Its a new feature this year. Literally had my rep call me yesterday to tell me about it. And I am sure your FAM from last year is at the bottom of the Anacostia.
That's changing this year, apparently. I traded my leftover FAM for Uber vouchers last year. Pretty good option.
