i know. my point is just how we get our hopes up and then an Injury or a player goes crap at the worst possible timing. It's cruel being a fan of the NT

Replay on 11Sports (didn’t know I got this channel) now. In 13th minute, so another hour or so before Kenny comes on.
Some (friendly) Yank-on-Yank violence. Gent will play a friendly against Schalke and our Lieblingspanzer on Jan. 7th: The Royal Blues' first friendly of 2018 has been announced 📅#S04 face @KAAGent in a friendly on January 7th ⚽️Full details:👉 https://t.co/oCpAGztbgA pic.twitter.com/otWuUNs2AW— FC Schalke 04 (@s04_en) December 29, 2017
"On my God they benched Kenny!" "You bastards!" : Saief at Gent. He'll probably start the friendly though.

Interesting news! According to transfermarkt, Anderlecht have been switching between a 4-3-3 and a 3-1-4-2 this season. Both of these fit Kenny's playstyle much better than the 4-2-3-1 Gent are running under their new manager.
I should've made the connection, but I didn't even think twice about Anderlecht setting up in a 3-1-4-2...
You can't evaluate a transfer by looking at a table. Assuming Kenny Saief goes to Anderlecht (which I think is happening), he will be reunited with Hein Vanhaezebrouck who coached him at Gent from 2014-2017. Saief is rejoining a manager who knows him and rates him highly #USMNT https://t.co/qRK0KC829l— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) January 4, 2018
Interesting. It's always a good sign.when a former coach wants to sign you, but the downside is that Anderlecht are having a very poor season and are marooned in third place, 13 points off top-of-the-table Brugge. Said former coach is under pressure from some sections, though the fact that he only took over in October when the team was already doing badly means expectations are muted.
Great move for kenny. really interested to see if this move back to a familiar coach can lead to a bigger league in the next 18 months.
Gent and Anderlecht are less than an hour apart. Kenny might now even have to move so that's always nice with a transfer because packing sucks.
From training ground to training ground, it's about 65 kilometres or 40 miles. If he lives on the the South or East of Ghent, it'll be less. He should be able to do the commute in about 45 minutes, each way. Trains take 30 minutes, and Brussels Midi would be about 15 minutes by taxi from the Anderlecht training ground.
I'd say Vanhaezebrouck is the guy that should be thinking about having his bags packed. Transfermarkt reports this as a loan, rather than an outright purchase. In plain English, it translates as "we'll let you bring this guy in just in case he helps the team to perform well enough to save our season and your ass, but we're not going to put up enough to buy him because we're replacing you in June anyway." They sacked the last coach, who led them to a regular-season top finish and their first title in three seasons via the playoffs, after a poor start to the season and an away loss to Bayern in the CL. Even for football, that's trigger-happy.
It's official. #USMNT winger Kenny Saief has left Gent and joined Anderlecht where he will be reunited with his former coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck.— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) January 5, 2018 Just as a correction. Kenny Saief is joining Anderlecht on loan from Gent until the end of the season but there is an option to buy. #USMNT https://t.co/2nfP2bcjgC— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) January 5, 2018
