I'd say that Saief is better at everything. Totally different levels. I'd say overall Saief is better than FJ.

Maybe, but until Saief moves up to a better league we are not going to know for sure. I do think Saief is faster and physically stronger than FJ.

fj been slacking lately...i was never in the camp that preferred him at LW...and his latest outings have bolstered my feelings there....still, i see saeif as a good option at LB. i predict bruce sees him more as a mid though.

I meant that Saief is a different level from Bedoya. Whether he is better that FJ we shall see, but I feel he is.

Honest question: have you actually watched many Saief's games? Good on you if you have time to watch random Belgium league matches.

FJ's performances have generally been SHIT but he's been a very nice Bundesliga player who has not looked out of place in the Champions League.

Not that many, have plenty of Israeli friends that I trust. Our Germaricans are like young wine, can't travel, getting ruined during the flights. But from what I've seen and heard Saief might get better than BL FJ.

The Belgium league is very good right now, and is ranked much higher than Holland's. Regardless, another pure left-footed player is badly needed in our pool.

No. Those were highights. Saief is very young, which is good. He's technical and left footed, which is awesome. He is not very offensive minded.

If I showed you Bedoya hitting a 25 yard bomb against PSG and his chip against Toronto last year and that's all you saw...

Saief is a very YOUNG, promising player and we should integrate him into our player pool and see what he can do.

He is not Fabian Johnson. Although he might not wilt in Central America. Or Denver. Or anything other that the World Cup. But at club level it's not even close, Fabian is class.

But Kenny Saief is a little beast.

I have watched a good amount of Kenny the last 2 years in Belgium and the Champions League. He's a very good player, and can play as a CAM when needed. He likes to take players on when given the opportunity, which is something our player pool lacks.

Interesting. I know FJ's game doesn't always transfer well to the National team...but I feel like he is one the most skilled guys in the pool. If this is true of Kenny then good for us!

Not sure that Kenny is as skilled as FJ, neither he is tas versatile, but he is way more athletic and direct while still be very skilled by our standards. They are different players. As I said somewhere else, I see Kenny as a skilled left footed version of Yedlin.

I don't think Kenny's game resembles that much to Yedlin's. Yedlin is a tad faster, that is about it that Yedlin has over Kenny. Kenny can play either side, seems to be a lot more savvy and has a nose for goal.

I've seen him attacking and even scoring from the right, but he is very, very left footed. The similarity to Yedlin for me is speed (agree that Yedlin is faster, but Saief might be the next fastest on the NT), strength, aggressiveness and ability to cross. And yes, he is better father up field than Yedlin and able to score.

Brian, do you have any insight as to what caused the switch from Kenny's perspective?

Competition for the LB/LWB/LM spots I imagine. That can only be a good thing in my opinion. Fabian Johnson hasn't been particularly impressive, so I'd like to see someone push him. And we have the perfect setting (Gold Cup) to test him out!
