Old Mkhi is a player with many qualities but you need to look at the context of his stats, more over the standard of Most of the German sides compared to the top 8-10 sides in the epl...EPL is way more competitive hence more difficult to perform Footy 365 seem to think Mane and Mkhi are similar players which they are not btw
That's what we said about Benteke! Need to be more ambitious than that How many matches has Mane played with 10 men behind the ball, though? That is one of the reasons why most with nice numbers flunk the Liverpool test.
But he's one of the guys we're hoping has the guile to do just that! And NOW you tell me he isn't experienced at it? Sheesh!
True but the article clearly states the players are different yet the author states comparisons can be made between the two?...what's more of a puzzle is the fact that Mkhitaryan has not even signed for Manutd
A fair point, and I'd back his judgement over Rodgers's. I'm just hoping he'll raise this lad's game and get him mentally ready to play for a team like Liverpool.
ditto and double ditto ----- what a great buy. I hadn't watched Southampton much last year so was quite unaware of him, other than that he was knocking in a few in the net over the season. But he's got the whole package, speed of thought and the physical ability to apply it at maximum speed..... Really great to have him at LFC
Got to admit he's taken me by [pleasant] surprise. I had him pegged as another big-fish in a small pond player who would wilt under the pressure of his fee and expectations at a bigger club. Lad's different, though. He's got an arrogant swagger and enough skills and professional attitude to back that up. Even when he's not playing well, he retains enough threat to keep defenders honest and woe be tide you if you blink (just ask the bitters). I was arguing with a workmate who claims we paid £34 million rising to a shade over £38 million. On the other hand, I remember reading that he was actually the third most expensive player at Liverpool after Carroll and Benteke. The papers are full of wildly differing figures (those briefed by Southampton claim a high fee, those by Liverpool adamant that we aren't paying more than £30 million with add-ons?) Anybody know better?
He's proving to be an excellent buy, worth every penny imo. I much prefer him to Sterling who cost City 20m more.
so despite sunderpants debacle - what a signing! I am mesmerized by him every time he plays. Scary part - Real and Barca are going to come calling in 2 years. Oh wait - we have Jurgen Klopp!
Imagine that...two players signed at the opposite scale of the transfer market that have turned out to be so influential
