Steven (the third Property Brother) Vitoria is starting for Canada in Gold Cup tonight. I had totally forgotten about him.

A Canadian side that gave up two goals to French Guyana and briefly looked like they'd drop the three points.

I can't imagine what their games against Honduras and Costa Rica are going to look like...

He has a soft spot for anything loosely related to "the French."

There is no way that this manager didn't intentionally choose his words, right? If he didn't, his ability to "read" players is outstanding! And I love that he couldn't even get the name right.

“I just heard someone picked him up from the airport,” Mroczkowski said. “This is not my idea, so let’s face it, the man who wants to have Frank [sic] Adu on the team, I do not accept this, it was not consulted with me. I will not test it, as someone else wants, and they can do it. In my opinion, the club is so ridiculous. Instead of building a team in a sensible way, we are looking for old vacuum cleaners.”

(from article) Freddy Adu joins Polish club Sandecja Nowy Sącz for trial despite manager's protests

Sandecja Nowy Sacz - we're not necessarily looking for good vacuum cleaners

It must be said that Freddy's agent must have great connections and never give up on him. He literally had one assist in two seasons with the Rowdies.

Cue delusional Union fan outrage when his destination isn't Philly....

I won't be outraged. I'm 100% certain he will return, but it won't be until he's ready to hang up his boots. I truly believe his final game of his career will be with the Union, though.

I hope not. But I could see the Union trying to pass him off as a big signing.

Featuring former Philadelphia Union players Cris Hernandez and Matt Jones, first-year Connecticut team Elm City Express won the NPSL title with a 5-0 win over Midland-Odessa FC

Elm City drew increasingly large crowds during its 14-1-2 campaign, developing its own supporters groups, the Brick Oven Brigade and Yard Dogs. The final attracted a club record 3,112 fans at Yale University’s Reese Stadium.

We're unbelievably good at ruining careers. Jones goes top flight in Portugal>MLS>NPSL in consecutive seasons.

That guy sucked. Most evidence suggests that the Portuguese league isn't very good either, outside the top 3.

I'd love to see a game where Matt Jones is forced to play with Vitoria and Anderson as the CBs in front of him, and Jim is forced to defend them in his post-game remarks.

Oh thank goodness! Tinfoil Teddy and his band of loonies are bad for the game!

Oh, Danny Cruz now plays for Real Monarchs after being transferred from San Francisco Delta's of the NASL.
