Happy for Japan, bit sad for the brave UAE players. But that's life.
Chinese spectators can now go home, they might be tired after all that booing... ;)

Congrats to young Japanese players, but also kudos to young UAE players, they dominated Japan but were unlucky.

I think UAE played full 120 minites two games in a raw , so Japan is clearly favored, but many players of Japan don't have playing time for their cubs, so they are said to have problem of stamina. This showed some today. Especially Yamazaki is just after recovering from two years injuries and illness, so I can't blame his today's bad performance.
Anyway Nagai is again good today .
Overall Nagai and Yamazaki look promising in this tourament.

I can't understand that. Japan's number 7 gave the ball to UAE almost everytime he received a pass in first half and still on the field?
Overall I think number 11, 8 and perhaps the goalkeeper have the future for Japan national team.

Our two soccer teams won the tournament, that's a good period for japanese football. I hope we'll win the Asian Cup.

As for a future in the national team, I see Nagai, Yamamura, maybe Yamazaki, Higashi and Noborizato.
I wouldn't count the central defenders out, they were also pretty good. Suganuma who sat on the bench is also a good player.

The double crossbar was somewhat lucky, but overall I thought it was a fair victory. Japan definitely were playing a defensive, score-on-the-counter strategy which is the opposite of how it usually works when Japan plays UAE, but what impressed me about this team from the very start was how solid and calm the defending was. Nagai and Yamazaki did pretty well creating chances considering that they had NO midfield support. Basically this was a very good team in the back line, and the two strikers (MAYBE including Mizunuma),

but the midfield was about as crappy as Ive ever seen from a Japan NT. :(

. . . I suppose thats because all the decent midfielders are already playing for J.League clubs ?

Care to point them out? Aside from the girl w/ the uniform in the center, and maybe the one on the top left corner...

Speaking of U-21 I hope you're not referring to the girl on the bottom in the yellow tee-shirt, because some of my JHS students look older :p

Impressed with how well Nagai covered their defenders. It looked like he was sprinting all the time. Didn't give the CBs much room.

Our no.10 was rubbish. But very cool-headed defenders though.

They only allowed 1 goal in the entire tournament which is quite impressive.

    Nagai's T-shirts says "雑草"(weed).
They surely showed great "雑草魂"(weed spirit) in this tournament and surprised many Japanese football fans.

Zac was watching there in studium. Nagai may have chance to be called.

Weed Spirit is the best kind of spirit . . . .

Which reminds me, Dick Advocaat (current coach of Zenit Moscow) was asked recently whether he prefers real grass, or if Artificial Turf was OK.

"I dont know", he replied, "I havent smoked any Artificial Turf."
