Although I wanted Leon to come back, Puebla was my second choice.

Congrats, and I'm looking forward for the Monterrey vs. Puebla game.

    Re: Official Puebla thread 2006-07

    Im glad Puebla is back.

I just wish Puebla's exec, Emilio Maurer, did not come with the package. He was very impulsive, very divisive, and always thought in extremes.

He was the one that wanted to introduce revenue sharing (copying the NFL). That idea did not sit well with other clubs like America, Necaxa, Chivas, Cruz Azul. It was the revenue sharing issue that got America's president (Emilio Diez Barroso) suspended from the FMF for 6 months and labeled "persona non grata" for going againt the FMF.

He was against clubs negotiating their own TV deals, he wanted the FMF to receive the money. In fact, he set up a committee to research TV ad money (him and Atlante's Jose A Garcia). That relationship went sour real fast when both were wanting preference for their own clubs rather than the standard deal every team was going to get.

Perhaps his biggest blunder in the FMF was being in charge of both the FMF First division and the FMF National Team. That was clearly a conflict of interest and as a result he paid the ultimate price---jail time for fraud. ALthough never convicted, he spent a week or so in jail.

I guess we needed to make an official thread for for the Apertura 2007 since the Apertura kicks off August 5th.

First Match for Puebla F.C. will be a tough one.

Sunday August 5th, Puebla F.C. VS Club America

BTW: Who else on BS Mexico would consider themselves a true Puebla Fan? I think im the only one on BigSoccer Mexico who can say they Puebla is my #1 team....Anyone Else? I cant wait for the season, i finally get to see Puebla in first Division again. I love the team even if i wasnt born their...i was born in NY, but my Dad is from Puebla and he loves Puebla FC.

Scoreless draw, but congratulations on Puebla's first point.

Been a long time since I've seen Lupe Martínez in goal. Nice stop on Argüello's free kick towards the end.

    Welcome back. Keep things interesting.

Considering Puebla just came up from la segunda, they did all right, but looking back at how bad America has looked, Puebla sure pulled off a lot of hacking so I'm not overly impressed.

    Puebla Defeats Tecos 3-0

Our first Win on the season...bringing us to four points

Nice to see La Franja get the First win outa the way.

I just hope we rack up enough points to stay...it would be a nightmare to go back to Primera A
