Saw Greg Ginn's Black Flag last night at Reggie's. Not being a big Black Flag fan, it was about what I expected. I was ready to leave after "Gimme Gimme Gimme" and "Six Pack" played but stuck around to the end. The versions of "Rise Above" "Jealous Again" and "TV Party" were pretty good, but a whole lot of long, boring stuff from Damaged, My War and Slip It In in between. The current singer is some semi-famous skateboarder, Mike Vallely. He does not compare to some of their other singers. My better half was completely spellbound by the drumming, of all things. He was a good, young drummer, but she just raved about him.
At the Jazz Fest. You can no longer bring alcohol onto the lawn of Pritzker Pavilion. Bastards. We sat in flower garden by the little water feature and drank all of our beer. We could hear great and it was less crowded.
Beach Bunny - local band that started a couple years ago. They wound up playing Lolla and had a great set.
“It is barely pumpkin latte season, but Jolly Saint Rob Halford is already revved up about Christmas.“ https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/judas-priest-rob-halford-donner-and-blitzen-881060/ FYI @sportscrazed2 @loonixxx
Seeing Conflict at Reggie's tonight. My third adventure here is a month. Flipper Black flag now, Conflict. I'm old.
I’m watching Slayer (paging you @loonixxx) at Riot Fest and enjoying the guitarist’s “No Lives Matter” t-shirt.
