Gyeol Hee Jang #welcome #to #asterastripolisfc https://t.co/0tKVjXDq7a— Asteras FC (@AsterasfcTwit) July 23, 2017
shame jang gyulhee stopped growing so soon. he had proportionately long legs when he was younger and he used to rely a lot on his wide leg span while dribbling
Look the chances of him playing in the CL are slim, if he made the decision to go to the Greek league to hold on to some dream of playing at a top team in Europe/CL one day then he made a mistake. He has a better chance of playing for the NT in K/J league if he played well, which is a bigger platform than anything the Greek league can provide. If he wanted to enjoy his twenties playing football, making money, talking to Mediterranean girls then he made the right choice. Since PJH went there too it makes me think some players value living, settling in some EU country with the goal of staying there long term potentially.
looking good in the 1st game of preseason as LCM in the midfield of 3.. personal opinion but his natural position imo & where he should have played (in 4-3-3) during U20 WC.. near Lee SW .. who cuts in centrally ⚽️ Min 65 GOOOOL de Paik! GOL DEL BARÇA! (0-6) #FCBMasia— FC Barcelona - Masia (@FCBmasia) July 25, 2017 edit - lol, after few subs.. Paik is now playing as LB or LWB for final few mins
i think they were right to experiment JGH as LB. unlike Lee SW, he was more of a natural winger and in modern game, you don't see much difference between winger & attacking fullbacks.
Except that the attacking FBs still need to have decent defensive skills. I recall SHM's comic performance as a wingback in a match this past season.
the problem is that JGH was probably rather used as a wingback because they had no use of him otherwise. If it's the same case with PSH, it means that it doesn't matter that he played and scored today.
JGH isn't Son and Son isn't exactly a natural winger. If I were to compare JGH, he is closer to guys like Milner, Valencia & host of hybrid winger/FBs in modern game. Come to think of it... JGH & Passlack are very similar imo well, that is "mismanagement" regardless of position. if they had no use for him & didn't believe he was good enough.. doubt JGH would have played much in any position. FIFA ban hurt JGHs development the most out of the 3 Korean kids who grew up at La Masia.

Who knows? Maybe his agent is working hard to find him a new club as we speak. But, he dug his own grave, so I don't really care what happens to him anymore.
