    A reminder that on the 20th of September the AFC U16 qualifiers will start.
    Japan's group is a simple one with Malaysia, Singapore and Guam and I assume the matches will be impossible to find, but it'll be interesting to start checking a few names at least

    Japan vs Honduras:
    U17 World Cup

    Tani
    Kida, Sugawara, Kobayashi, Suzuki
    Nakamura (right), Hirakawa, Fukuoka, Kozuki (left);
    Kubo, Miyashiro

    Both Kida and Suzuki have played on the left in the past so not sure who's going to be the left SB. Probably Suzuki

    Even if Japan wins the group, they will face either Brazil or Spain in the round of 16...

    It's still better to win the group, the best teams (in my opinion) are England and Brazil, if Japan wins the group, than Japan will have to face one of them only in the final (considering that both Brazil and England win their groups).

    Same line up vs Honduras with two changes:
    Suzuki is out and Baba is in.
    This probably means that Kida plays as left SB and Sugawara moves from CB to right SB.
    Other change is Fukuoka out for Okuno.

    Both correct changes imho, good luck Japan.

    Watched the first half, Japan dominated possession and the flow of the game but did little concretely on goal sadly. France didn't do much yet was more dangerous. I had the feeling that unless Japan scored in the first half the match would become even more difficult later and sadly, it looks like this was the case...
    Either way it was a good test for this team, esp. with the french players pressing all the time. Predictably, the defense is the weak point in the team. It'll be nearly impossible to beat Brazil sadly.

    Uninspiring match, the structure couldn't be more weaker, there was ocean of space between the lines. 2 volante played like a headless chicken, chasing the ball but didn't commit to 50-50 ball and leaving space everywhere. Backline didn't push to close the gap yet they keep the line deep and didn't put a single challenge nor attempt to contain French FW from ariving in dangerous shooting zone. There's no one to blame but Moriyama who made no adjustment whatsoever. Before the first goal there's 2 or 3 alarming situation when French managed to release Gouiri into one on one situation with enough space to beat the DF, yet he's done nothing to prevent same situation again.

    I stand corrected btw, apparently second place means England and not Brazil thankfully. Still difficult though.
