JEF will play in the final, while the only semifinal will be between Montedio and Jubilo.

Oh, I had no idea. Kitakyushu doesn't have the license, or what?

Yep, they were one of the three J2 clubs that failed to obtain the J1 license, the other being Mito and Gifu.

Júbilo plays for the draw. The same applies for JEF in the final.

Knowing Ramos's penchant for aging talent, don't be surprised if he tries for Takayuki Suzuki.

It would have to be major money for him to want to move from Tokyo or eastern Kanto though

    Absolutely amazing!!

Yamagishi, the GK scores with a fabulous header in injury-time to make it 2-1 to Montedio!

And Jubilo gets EXACTLY what they deserves. They've showed absolutely no interest in getting the 2nd goal on 1-1, and tried to defend their way to the final. Anti-football in its purest form, and I'm happy that it didnt pay off!=)

    This made my day=)

Better to be hero for Montedio then 3rd keeper for Urawa.

Speaking about Iwata and J2, seems Cerezo's new manager will be former Iwata-manager Morishita.

Jubilo failed to follow the recent trend of J1 highly-rated teams managing an immediate return to J1 after their relegation.

Sanfrecce, Kashiwa, Tokyo and Gamba all managed that in recent years and came back stronger than they were, and in the case of Kashiwa (and likely Gamba) won the league title immediately after their re-promotion, while Sanfrecce gradually become a title contender and won the league twice in the years that succeeded their re-promotion.

I don't know you, but sometimes there are signs that you have to follow.
Since Montedio is gonna play a play-off final and the EC final, I think they're gonna get something from this season.

    Nagano Parceiro 0-0 Kamatamare Sanuki.

Who knows what happens if the second leg also ends tied? Away goals?

I'm talking about J1 regular highly-rated teams that went down to J2 and came back immediacy to the J1 (after dominating J2) stronger than they were, and some of them won the J1 title.

Does Montedio fits in this criteria/description?

Nope. They play a very defensive style that at best frustrates opponents, never dominating them. They lack the funds to really challenge in J1. They're kind of like Kofu in many ways.

Yeah, they were no fun last time they were in J1, constantly being among the teams that scored the least goals. However, in J2 last season they were the most "fun" team except for Gamba, and their matches averaged around 3,12 goals pr game. This season they have been a bit more average though, but the whole league in general have been more boring measured in goals.

damn. Now a part of me would like to see Montedio in J1, but if they make it instead of JEF, I see them relegated already (would love to be wrong). Well, may the best win, I guess.
