You can follow real-time tweets from a Cincinnati Zoning Committee (I think) meeting where they're discussing how noise from the new FCC stadium might affect the nearby Music Hall: https://twitter.com/ChrisCinciBiz Background here: https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinn...rd-inside.html?iana=hpmvp_cinci_news_headline
Looks like the design for the stadium has lost its lighted roof. From what I gather, FC Cincinnati fans aren't too happy. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/ne...fc-cincinnati-stadium-scaled-back/2776414002/
She destroyed one of the best scouting and farm systems in baseball by cutting its budget and letting go of a lot of talented baseball minds. I believe she had a famous quote, something to the effect of "Why should I pay these guys to sit around and watch baseball all day?" She also treated her dogs better than her players, often humiliating the players by making them wear hats with dog ears while letting her dogs crap on the field and giving them their own air conditioned boxes. I won't even go into her whole fascination with Nazi stuff.
We'll know at the first road game. We'll REALLY know when they play in Cincinnati. Even if Dwight and Neil have to carpool and split the gas money...send them. Send them on the supporter bus if that's what it takes. There is simply zero excuse for them calling that game from a studio. (Even though it's on FS1, it'll still be on radio.)
First they set bar high by signing half of a USL roster. Then they set bar higher by charging USL ticket prices And now this.... Celebrating their first tie. Can't wait for the "we're just happy to be in MLS" energy to wear off and they actually have run that thing like at MLS club and actually win games.
"So much for growing the @fccincinnati fanbase in the greater region. Not many will care about a team when they can't watch a game unless they open a vein . . ." Welcome to the backlash from the "everything's streaming" era. You want TV, pay...but you actually want to follow certain teams? Pay for B/R Live, NBC Gold and ESPN+! Such is life when companies outbid each other.
If it's the size you are admiring Columbus Metro Park Battelle Darby Creek features more than 7,000 acres of forest, prairies and wetlands. If it's a park next to old homes you want Griggs Reservoir in Upper Arlington has 550 acres of park land. Or Whetstone Park of Roses in Clintonville also let's you perv into the back of old homes.
On reflection, I think it's good that they moved on from the whole illuminated roof thing. It's kind of the stadium equivalent of a 70s avacado green bathroom. In a decade, it will come off as dated. The stadium will be an architectural focal piece of the area. It should be something that can be reflected in the area. There is a great deal of redevelopment to happen in that area.
What else has been scaled back? The article (which is now over a month old) still says it's a $250M stadium, and the only design changes it refers to are the lighting and associated facade material. Are there other articles that give details about the stadium design?
I don't know if they're going to update the design without the lighted roof to add an unlighted roof. The concern I've heard is that, from the rendering in the article, seats that were covered by the roof look to be uncovered now. FC Cincinnati fans would also like to be protected from the elements.
